I remember being refused entry to places back in the 70's but had few problems since then.

I've never been asked to remove my helmet at a petrol station, either.
Perhaps wearing an open face or flip front helmet helps..?

I've been asked to remove my helmet in a petrol station once when I already had the flip front up. It was in Aldershot though.

Aldershot..?

Isn't that where they invented locking petrol caps?

Never yet been asked to remove helmet or refused service. I'm just toooo nice a bloke I guess biggrin:

If they did tell me to remove the lid I'd tell them I can't as I'm congenitally ugly......

Sorry for being so bellicose. Had a lager for the first time in a while tonight smile

But I will rail against Daily Mail type finger wagging about being a bike rider when it is one of the few things that is free from that sort of constraint. I enjoy the whole biking schtick as you are allowed to be unacceptable to middle England dreariness. it is the ability to be free from all that tut-tutting that is so nourishing. smile

As long as you don't hurt anyone anything is game...

I mean, how many people don thier helmets and chant that every other road user is a tosser and out to kill you? Totally rude and unfair on most of fellow road users, but it keeps you alive in many cases. It is not about being measured and considered and Right-On with the chattering classes. It is a selfish pursuit that sometimes does change how you react to stimuli, like being ordered what to do by some charmless tit in a glass booth who has a flashing button power to serve you or not. And then charge you 30 quid for the privilege.

Then you suffer the beration of some dweeb talking about the harm I do to the biking community. What community? I ain't this for anyone else. It is a selfish and childish pursuit that is at its core anti-social.
Clearly lager=foolishness.

Like it or not, we all get lumped together (where is this thread, for instance?)

Where did your childish display get you with the petrol station? Are they now closed through the lack of your business, or is it more likely that said 'charmless tit' - pot and kettle? - has a grudge against bikers and will be more awkward since your visit? "As long as you don't hurt anyone...."

Grow up.

Mid Wales, reasonable restaurant, they saw bike gear and made their assumptions but they were really not expecting the torrent of abuse, disgorged in a posh accent when they refused a table.
The Oundle Mill however, on it's opening night, happily welcomed me in full biker gear with the comment that my money was as good as anyone else's. Nothing like eating in a good restaurant in leathers.....

I can be angry. Sort of.
I would mention what I have done to a chavs car when he tried to push me onto a round a bout, but I'm not proud of it, and it certainly wouldn't please the 'elders' on here hehe
I shall now leave you to wonder. Maybe.
You broke down in front of him so he couldn't get away?

I think most of us agree that if this place got split up into sub forums, it'd die pretty quick.

Pah, you whippersnappers. When I started riding, there were only three pubs in Nottingham that you could get a drink in if you went in with a leather jacket on, let alone turn up on a bike! It got better in the eighties, but the Sal, Morts and the Grosvenor and that's it.

Don't post saying the White Hart at Lenton, cause that's outside the city.
Blimey, that takes me back! Although I may not(ahem!)quite have been old enough to drink back then...

on the other foot I can think of 3 cafe/bars where motorists aren't welcome.
bikers only, or maybe the places evolved into that.

You are epically thick sometimes, Grasshopper! This IS a sub-forum. It's for Bikers. That was (clearly) my point.
