180 tyre instead of the 190 !!?!?

my old man did that to his TL1000R and it turned much better
If you raise the rear ride height adjuster to about 8mm of thread showing and sort the suspension, you don't need a 180 to make them turn nicely, but some do prefer it on the 7Rs.

Been using it alot over the last two days and even took it to work this morning.. Its been a bit neglected by previous owners, thats clear to see.. this coming long weekend will give me a chance to strip it down and start making it how I want it.

Picture from this morning...

Won't stay red for long parked there thanks to the seagulls!

Hi Lee, you'll soon get people telling you how good the St Ives St Just road is, but I think your commute is better - less sheep & tourist! Did it last week in fact on the KTM.

Yep I know.. I lived in St Ives since birth up until a few months ago..

I remember a rather spirited ride with Age (from SWB) down to Lands End back in 2004, he was on a 996 and me on my little ZXR400.. great fun!!

I personally prefer Penzance to Lands End, rather than St Ives to St Just/Lands End.. the Penzance road is smoother with more sweeping bends and is a proper road with traffic in both directions.. nothing worse than getting stuck behind a caravan or tourist on single lane road!

Had no history with the bike..

Started strip down so I could do a full check over the whole bike, found a couple of nice suprises.. a K&N air filter, although fitted upside down?! and a dynojet kit in the carbs

How it looks at the moment..

Think I prefer that colour scheme to the (inevitable) solid "green meany" look personally.

(awaits flaming by the Kawasaki purists biggrin: )

I have a green/purple ZX7R and I prefer the black and silver.

Although nothing looks quite as good as the old ZXR plain metalic blue.

Lovely!

My ZXR400 seems very well cared for, but has been a nightmare this year, so despite seeming used and abused you might be surprised! Currently refusing to run and rev above 3k scratchchin

Fuel starvation, CDi unit, coils..

Would be looking at carbs first though, stripped and cleaned, ultrasonic if possible.. get back on bike and fit an inline fuel filter before trying to run it up.

My ZXR400 had a similar issue, I replaced the CDI unit and seemed to fix it

I think your issue is your carbs.. they need to be professionally cleaned really, the rubber tipped float needles are very sensitive and the slightest amount of dirty can really mess them up.

I had my ZXR400 for 2 years, 2004-2005.. had alot of similar issues that you mentioned in your first thread, I got mine as a cheap non-runner!
