I can't even get my photostream to load now - just those rotating balls!
At work and all I get is 'the balls'. It looks as though the testing is down to the end user!

If you cancel Pro now they will refund you for the remaining months left on it. I did it I'm not paying just for stats and to be ad-free. I think I'm probably going to move away from Flickr, I've been thinking about it for a while and I really don't like the way this design works.

A good explanation of the new account options:

That suggests that my paid for Pro account is now inferior to a new free account, but for the stats, which I do find useful.

Can anybody work out if there is any point in hanging on to a Pro account? Now that "many of the Pro-only features are now part of free Flickr accounts", as far as I can see, all it gains you as ad-free browsing.
I rarely visit the site – so being ad-free isn’t particularly important. I’m not using it for any professional purposes, so I don’t need statistics.

For me, there’s no point remaining a Pro user – so they just lost a paying customer. I’ve downgraded to free and requested the partial refund.

That’s where it got a bit odd. The page for requesting a downgrade doesn’t work in Safari. I had to open up Google Chrome and use that. Then the strange part: a warning that downgrading would mean that I could never upgrade back to Pro. Never? Flickr don’t want to take my money in future?

I suspect that its just poor wording and they mean I can’t get back into Pro at the old price. But what it literally says is ‘we don’t want you back’.

Unless I read that link wrong a few posts up, they are not accepting new pro users.

So the Pro level of membership is dead? Fair enough then.

...to new members.

Guessing they've worked out that they make more money by having ads instead of pro users.

Or they are planning to gradually make the ads annoying enough that more users upgrade to the (more-expensive-than-pro) new ad-free user level.

Guess it's just me who likes it then hehe

I thought old flickr was a brilliant service delivered by a ghastly mess of a site. New design works for me smile

I like it too (possibly due to being a cheapskate free user with low expectations/ requirements)...

Logged on last night (minutes after the change went live I think, as I could find very little elsewhere on the net about it) and was pleasently surprised to find the 200 pic limit had gone; I thought I was dreaming (it was pretty late!) when I found 1TB was the new limit. As for adverts, I have an ad blocker installed and didn't see any - feels like a great freebie to me now!

Not liking the new homepage and photostream format, I've found that if, on the header line, you click on 'you' then when that opens click on 'edit' you get back to your old layout. That works for me anyway.

So - is there a simple way of seeing how much space your account is currently on? I certainly can't see it from my Account Settings and Stats.

It does seem slow to me too, I was in the process of migrating away from Photoshelter to Flickr, but maybe I'll have to look at somewhere else...

Absolute horse s&&t. Think they've made a big mistake, I think the majority of people think it looks gash as well going by comments on twitter etc.

Think I may start using 500px more now. Only thing I liked about using flickr was the ability to embed images on forums etc.

You can still do that. Bottom right of image click on square box with an arrow coming out of it 'more ways to share' and copy the HTML code as usual.

I've had a pro account for years. I hadn't realised they had revamped the layout so I just had a look. Initially at least, I don't like it as much.
Apart from storage space, does the free account now support more sets & groups? If not, I guess I'll have to stick with the yearly payments. I have nearly 2,000 photos & videos in nearly 100 sets. I checked the FAQ and I'm still not sure what I'd lose by downgrading.

I actually quite like the look if I'm honest. The switch to black just makes sense - how many times do you see a forum photo with the caveat, "looks best on black,"? It doesn't feel completely different to the old version either.

I'm not a massive Flickr user - I browse contacts photo's, upload the odd one myself and occasionally have a nosy through my favourites. With the exception of Favourites on the Android app (it seems very hidden away compared to the old version) I can't say that as a casual user the changes bother me. Probably won't bother renewing my Pro subscription though (only got it as it was half price.)

I think i'll probably get used to it, but it was a bit of a shock when I first opened it today.

When I open flickr using the url as just www.flickr.com all I see is huge photo's from my contacts. Is there a way to make it so that when I open flickr I see my photos? Or would the only way be by editing the URL in my favourites to go straight to my photo page?
