I like the sound of this. Changing as much of the ally to match the gold wheels/forks. Look forward to seeing the pics.

If he does a decent job of it it could look cool, but the old 2000 R1 certainly didnt

No, but then there was a hell of a lot of ally still on display in contrast to the gold. This new one is mostly white/black & soon to be gold so I think should look cool.

Mmmm ...

I'm all for spending your money on what you like. But when you ruin things it seems sort of pointless.

That original R1 looked wk!

Of course. We all know that this isn't a modification and is just to cover up a fibreglass repair wink

Incredible, he's busily ruining it already... that blue R1 was vile; now he plans to ruin that new model like all his awful cars. Have we ever seen piccies of Gulzar's house? I bet it is awful! Green faux-marble fittings in the bathroom with gold taps and trim.... ecccch!

I can't help but think that Gulzar would do well if he spent some of his cash on a night-class in art & design fundamentals....

If it were all black and you were adding gold bits it would look awesome...white black and gold is just wrong.

I didn't realise the R1 was so ugly nowadays, the way the lights reach out over the front wheel really ruins it for me...but then again what do I know..I don't even ride road bikes. smile

each to their own, but I personally think spending loads of cash on bolt on bits just to add abit of gold is rather stupid.

edit: especially if youre buying them just for the colour, parts that look good and add performance are a different kettle entirely

It also sums up the atitude of those that choose to mock him for enjoying his hard earned and sharing the progress with good humour.

Gulzar comes across to me as a good egg with slightly eccentric/flamboyant tastes (nothing wrong with that). I say fair play to him.

I kid you not, the other week I was wondering 'whatever happened to Gulzar and his creations'
now I no what you've been up to...however your planned 'mods' aren't as crazy as your car threads. Pics up when its done!

Hmmm...not sure if that's true?

Regardless of whether it is or not, i'm entitled to an opinion - if he wants to post these monstrosities on a car enthusiasts website then be prepared to have people who dislike his 'creations' as well as the sycophantic people who enjoy them and babble on about how it's his money blah blah blah....

Not sure how you can defend things such as this....

Just read his posts and you will get the picture, he does it all with a smile even in the face of some quite harsh critiques. Ok i wouldn't buy one of his old cars, but I think he comes across well on these forums.

Why does he need to defend it?
Its his and he is doing what he likes to it, I'm not sure I see the issue really
