Tayyabs. Get lots of starters and bread and refuse to order mains.

Yo guys never cease to amaze me!
My son has his eye firmly on Bodeans, I'm trying to plan visits to two or three places!

A branch of Byrons should go down well.
If you like Byrons try Meat Liquor expect a queue in the evenings though.

Both over rated IMO.

Another Soho joint,

Bincho Yakitori Strange and Exciting

Good food in a great setting, in the heart of town...and you can have all kinds of strange dishes there all grilled on long skewers, chicken gizzard? beef tongue? Just another one to add to the list...how long is your stay? wink

For something he won't forget, because everything on this thread he will - why not go up to Duck and Waffle (food is OK, something for everyone at least) its on the 42nd floor of Heron Tower and the view is spectacular, and if there are only 2 of you you'll likely get a seat right near the window.

Failing that, you could go to Sushi Samba the floor below, which is also good, but slightly more expensive.

View here from I think Sushi Samba - but Duck/Waffle has 360 degree views, its quite something, and IMO it does the job of food and the London Eye in one.

If you go you really do have to try the burnt ends...only problem is there isn't enough of them!

Tend to agree. Pit Cue and Co is a much better option imo if your around Soho.

No it's not.

I lived out in Austin, Texas for 6 months last year and so ate some of the best BBQ in the whole world at least once a week (Franklin's, Salt Lick, Rudy's, the list goes on). Bodean's is not as good as these, but it is far from "st". Why do you think it is? Admittedly haven't tried the whole menu so maybe you had something that wasn't great which I haven't tried?

Have not tried Pitt Cue Co. so cannot comment personally, but have heard good things.

The Wapping Project. Restaurant and art gallery in an old Hydraulic Power Station - it's a lovely walk along the river from Canary Wharf too!

It's particularly good for brunch, but dinner is fun when it's all lit with candles.

Just not consistent. Wings aren't hot. And nowhere near as good as meat liquor ones. Just unimpressed.

I've been there twice and wasn't impressed. Nice venue though

Fair enough.

I hate wings anyway so not something I can comment on.

However, I stand by the fact Bodean's does good BBQ food. Wings aren't traditional BBQ anyway so not really sure why they sell them (guess it's because it's 'American'). The burnt ends are very good, ribs are good, pulled pork is good.

Agree the Bodeans wings aren't hot, but for what it is, I think it's fine.

But, talking of wings, have you tried the ones at Patty&Bun? Best I've had in Londinium yet.
