Now, you see, you assume they're blasting, they feel like they're wafting, thats the difference...
I was lucky enough to have one (a new petrol cayenne S) for a couple of weeks in dec (insurance replacement whilst FFRR got some work done as a result of a run in with a lorry...).

And I now appreciate all the things they're good at. And (looks aside) promise not to slate them anymore.

But (imo) they're not 'wafty' compared to a FFRR. And this is a good thing:

You want a small 4x4 'suv', with quality build and more car-like handling...get a Cayenne.
You want a wafty, trundle along, spacious, 4x4 get the FFRR.

I really did like the Cayenne. Good build quality (if mesmerising amount of controls/buttons), fun handling and performance, quite a nice sound. But I'd never swap for my FFRR - because I need the space (4 dogs..). And I do prefer the driving (waft) style of a FFRR. But I can definitely see the appeal of the Cayenne for those with different requirements.
See exactly where your coming from, and no, they're more sporty than wafty which is why I choose one. I think compared to normal cars, when the suspeensions set to comfort they can feel a bit wafty though.

Plus my staffie cross wouldn't be at all at home in the back for a FFRR, the cayennes much more "him".

Mmmm. I'm taking the 993 in for a service soon. I know my Indy often has a Cayenne for sale. Think I'll go have a look around one. You know, kick the tyres, sit in the driver's seat - that sort of thing.

What are the diesels like? I quite like the look of an '09 diesel although think I'd prefer the performance of the turbo!

Not sure if serious?
Sounds good to me..
biggrin

It does make you feel that way in comfort mode - hit sport and it goes off like a stabbed rat, but I do sit in comfort most of the time.

Any better solutions to the PCM thingy? Are there any complete replacements? (Thanks for the Denson link)

How did the tyre kicking go? I'm selling my Cayenne S if interested! I know one of the mechanics at PCT who does the work on my car.

Advanced research at this stage. I am about 12 months away from my lease ending on my current daily driver.

Cheers.
