I'm going to buy all the cars I ever wanted. One at a time.

What a quality idea and thread.
Like many have said, this is absolutely living the dream in my eyes.
I'd love to do this on 10% of Cashmax's budget, but owing to the amount he's chucking at it, makes it even more epic.
Good luck with the journey, the first choice looks bang on. Have you established a definitive list and order as such, or is it a case of buying what takes your fancy and what's available at the time?
Good luck either way.

Brilliant idea, would love to see how it goes
This has sown the seeds of a similar idea in my mind but for a (lot) lower budget. If I can wait a month or two to see how Mrs Case's new Japanese Domestic Appliance would do as the main family transport then it could be on. So far gaps in my car history include - no 4x4 (although I'm starting to look at them now), no V8, no convertible, no Jaguar, no Mercedes coupe, etc. Looking at that list, I could probably kill two birds with one stone, but the object would be to get as much variety as possible, only restriction is at least a 2+2. I would be interested to hear how others have fared with a similar quest, and also if auctions are a cost-effective way of buying and selling?

Things have got a little held up because I am in the middle of buying another house and its draining to say the least.
Having said that, I cam very close to buying the Aston I posted about last time, made several calls to the dealer and then at the weekend called them and said I would pay the price we had agreed and pick it up. But they wouldn't be open and didn't like doing business over the weekend. I couldn't bring myself to do business with a company with that attitude so left it alone.
To cheer myself up, I went out and bought something I have always wanted, but could never justify the cost for a toy.

Its a Stealth Bomber electric mountain bike. 9 inches of travel on the suspension, 50mph, 50 odd mile range. Doesn't get a second look from anyone and can blast down byways like you wouldn't believe.
Just been offered quite a cheap 430 Spider by my dealer mate, very tempted, but its such a big ugly thing.
There will be updates shortly, I promise.

Great toy!
Ignore the doubters and take your time to buy the right car, from the right seller.
Don't worry, more than half the people on any forum like this exist purely to cast doubt and look for cracks in anything that anyone says. Its kind of normal and provides some balance. (although I do sometimes wonder what they must be like in real life)Ignore the doubters and take your time to buy the right car, from the right seller.
I posted it because I knew it would appeal to quite a few on folks on here and the normal comments from a few SITTs won't deter me from posting up all the gory details when the process gets underway!
I have a Tungsten Silver, black interior manual V8V Roadster on an 08 plate with all the extras listed in the one you listed plus clear rear lenses.
I bought the car over a year ago, it is now on 57,000 miles and has been excellent (I've done 8000 of those miles).
The car lives outside in allocated parking - roof is in the same condition after the last 14 months.
Toying with the idea of selling as i may be looking to move into my first automatic car (don't ask..!)
So keep an eye on the classifieds...it'll be up for a fair few £'s cheaper than the one you were looking at.

Interesting idea...
I've always said if I came into a chunk of cash I'd go buy allsorts of tired/cheap/retro cars and simply document the fun and games which ensued - would entertain me if no-one else (and I know enough mechanics to keep them all in business!!)
When I make an actual list of cars I've said I'd actually own tho - it's quite short. Loads of cars I want to drive but ownership is different.
Things like Scoobs, Evos etc. are a 'drive' thing - as are most exotics (I'd probably just join a supercar and classic car club) - so you'd be hearing about my adventures in smoky old Jags, tired Seat Cupras, cheap MBs and so on IF I came into wealth
