Fair enough, although you can see why I doubed your thread.

Just pay the fine. Next time try be apologetic and avoid getting wound up and you may well get away with it.
I can see why aswell. I just re read it and its like a 15 year old with an interesting car want history typed it up for attention.

I can't be arsed going back to correct it anymore.

I'm going to pay the fine and be done with it.

For some insane reason I came home thinking I was a bit of a supreme being and I could dodge it.

Very true.

For the record I am not high on acid or anything like that. More like tired from work and training tonight.

Slightly off topic, but is the new keeper slip from the V5 not enough proof to be able to get a new plate made?

It's enough to get it taxed, so I don't see why not...

I have just bought a car that has no tread left on the front tyres and none of the lights work, but its a public holiday so i can drive it on the road until its fixed. I don't think so! Man up, your in the wrong pay the fine!

Not worth it plus there are other replies just as guilty.

Seems like a trader tbh.

I'd just pay the fine, in my younger days it was common to drive with that sort of plate or none..

I once got stopped and shockingly, my door wouldn't open from inside or outside.
I had a prohibition notice slapped on it and had to tow it to a garage and then get a new MOT done on it.
Sometimes they are harsh but they have a duty to serve. People complain when the law is too harsh and they complain when its too soft..

Nope I am not a car trader.

I just enjoy cars and I am in a situation where I can buy the cars I have always wanted thats all.

I buy them, get bored of them then sell them or stick em in the garage.

So you were "stopped for my numberplate" and now have a letter.

Do you need a number too?

You dont need docs to get a plate made up, its no excuse at all. Most of the smaller motor factors will make you a plate if you take your car along to show them the other front /rear plate and theres plenty who ask for no proof at all..

Not sure why £60 is an issue then.

I had a small number plate for a time and got stopped for it on three occasions. I considered the fine an acceptable cost for have the plate size I wanted at the time.

But as they say, each to their own.
