Ok I'm brave enough to admit it and ready to tack the flack, buts heres why;

Black car, low to road driven quickly along twisty A & B roads. I've had a couple and maybe I'm just unlucky near misses where drivers coming out of junctions just havent picked me up and pulled out with that was too near for liking moments!! Sure I could put headlights on, like a Volvo, or go blinged up with DRLs like Land Rover, Audis etc which I really dont like so went as subtle as poss. And unlike remolding the front wings for different headlamps these are easy to remove leaving no trace. I have a toggle switch below the ignition with a little blue led to turn on and off.
Soz if I'm letting the side down!

Its easier to get LED type side lights and just put those on if you are worried, plus they are higher up than those below the indicators.
DRL's are a modern feature for a modern car. I like the look of the strobe lights on newer cars but i woulnd't fit them to a chim, But all said and done its your car and you go with what you like but be prepared for some comments. smile

You could have the Lupo GTi lights that have the indicators built in and DRLs or fog lights in place of the TVR indicators.

Here you go, a photoshop from another thread...

BC - I'm actually not completely against the idea of the sympathetic installation of DRLs but what annoys me is that generally they are there because people aren't actually being as observant as they used to be and it's another "What can we do to fix a problem that only exists because people are getting lazy / careless / stupid" solution...

People are getting too feckin' lazy and unobservant nowadays - they sit inside their Euroboxes with increasing numbers of airbags, lane safety systems, ABS, ESP, TCS, laser guided cruise control etc. and because they have been told that they are safe and they expect that the worst that will happen is that they will gently lay their head on a nice soft airbag pillow filled with the finest duck down brought to them and slipped in gently between their head and the steering wheel by an old school English Butler they forget how much it'll hurt if they do actually have an accident. Instead they concentrate on talking to their kids on their phone when they'll see them in half an hour anyway (or could do if they weren't busy working) or making the latest "deal" because - of course - it's "safe" because they're using hands free.

(All phonecalls should be banned in cars in my opinion - sorry if that offends anyone but even hands free calls take your attention from driving far more than just talking with a passenger - I refuse to take or make any calls on any device - hands free or not - when I'm driving.)

I'm just waiting for the day that my car has to be fitted with reversing signals, hazard warning stripes and orange flashing lights "to make it stand out" ... which, of course, when everything stands out then nothing stands out and instead everything else gets much more confusing for people to quickly evaluate and identify.

So it's safe to say that I miss the days when kids were taught "Stay on the pathway - if you go on the road you will be run over and die" and instead have them seeing drivers being told to expect children to run out and avoid them otherwise it's their ass on the line if they hit anyone and not the fault of the stupid sod that walked out into the road. My car isn't quiet but I still have 16-18 year olds walk out in front of my car as I drive in to work and they walk to the local college - they can't hear me and don't see me because they've got their brains plugged into their iPods and are busy swapping photos of their genitals with ethereal entities who may or may not be the person they purport to be but they will never know because they will never meet and texting messages to friends who might only be a few yards or a few minutes away...

Don't worry - it won't be long until we're all androgynous massive blobs of lard who aren't able to move under our own mass (like the vampire librarian in Blade) and instead face the world as a virtual avatar who communicates with other virtual avatars in a virtual world while we sit in a corner and masturbate ourselves into oblivion on a diet of downloaded porn and delivered pizza like so many research lab monkeys.

Roll on the next change of "ownership" - I hope the dolphins make a better job of the planet that we have...

The Lupo gti lights are very expensive ,the later standard Lupo lights have incorporated indicators .

The driving lights actually improve vision at night so could be of some benefit.
