Do you have a tattoo?

That's looking great Dave, really nice. How many more sessions do you think you have left?

Cheers! Probably 2 more to get the main bits done (inner arm still to be decided as I keep changing my mind!) Then maybe one more final touch up once its all healed.
Have you been able to start on your back piece yet?
Oh, and if any photoshop wizards are reading, I'd be really keen to see what the first photo above would look like with the hair darkened to black or purple!

Not yet, had a reminder about a session last week or so that I knew nothing about but Gretch couldn't make it and I want some more time post surgery before I start a new piece...
The next available appointments are in December so I might start booking some soon, I imagine i'm going to need a few!
Funnily enough a friend of mine is in the middle of a judge dredd style sleeve by Louis Malloy and it is fantastic. He was talking to him during a session about a doctor who sleeve idea ive had for a long time. seems like he is really interested and a fan of the show and has put forward some food for thought. just about to book the consultation.
Bit of backstory here...
Last year I was in Spain with a group of friends (three boys, three girls), and the girls were all getting identical tattoos on their feet. Jokingly I said to the tattoo guy, "That doesn't look too hard, I'll do the next one if you like." He said "Oh, you think it looks easy? Have a go!" I said, "No, I'd mess it up, I wouldn't want her foot to look manky for the rest of her life." "I didn't mean on her! Do one on yourself!" "Errr, OK!"
He asked me what my name was. "Miles", I say. So he draws an elaborate "M" on my forearm. No f
king way am I tattooing on my forearm. Then he draws this cross thing above my knee (We called it the cross of Nerja, it was on all the signs) and I thought "You know. I could probably do that."
He hands me the needle...
Now, I didn't find out until afterwards, but apparently it's supposed to stab in and out of your skin. I was using it like a jigsaw. He said he'd never seen so much blood from such a small tattoo (about an inch squared).
All in all I don't think it's that bad (less wonky in real life, the photo was from a funny angle), and I don't regret it. The girls regret their tattoos, they don't like what they say, they don't think they look good, but mine will remind me of when I was young and stupid (I still am), and I can tell people I did it myself, and I think that's pretty funny!
Oh, it's red because when I'd finished the tattoo guy slapped it as hard as he could and then rubbed it with what I can only assume was acid. That on top of the sunburn.

No, won't regret that at all.. Last year I was in Spain with a group of friends (three boys, three girls), and the girls were all getting identical tattoos on their feet. I prefer your story to those of people who are trying to make a big statement with a tattoo. I've got some 20 year-old scars to remind myself of when I was a young and stupid mountainbiker. Would have been easier to tattoo myself!MrChips said:
^^ Coming along nicely Lee! Is that finished now or are you adding any other bits around the outside of the main piece?
Couple of updates from me as it's been a while. We started work on the front section, using dna strings and some milky way inspiration.

I think we're likely to change how the face links into the upper shoulder, maybe change the hair to be darker/purple or something, not sure yet!
Then earlier this week we did the majority of the back shoulder, using an exploding planet earth as a bit of an idea. Really pleased with the colours in this bit as it just so vibrant.

Is that by Kamil the same person who did Johnny?Couple of updates from me as it's been a while. We started work on the front section, using dna strings and some milky way inspiration.

Prison tats are the order of the weekend I fear. Where did I leave my sewing kit?

I looked up Indian ink tattoos last night after reading that. Yeah. I ordered some.

You don't need to order them, just steal a bottle of black Indian ink from school and pinch a darning needle off your mum. It's a great idea....Prison tats are the order of the weekend I fear. Where did I leave my sewing kit?

In fact it was such a great idea I was scrubbing bleach into them with a toothbrush, twenty minutes after I did them.
