Not sure about that American Redwood, but I've certainly seen a few examples of rotting British Leylandiis in my time.

There is a green and rust lump of 50's metal hiding behind this hedge, that I now pass on my way to work every day. I thought it was an Alvis, but after googling "Alvis" I'm not so sure any more.

Spotted this in the barn of a large French house we stayed in on the way back from Le-mans last year.
The owner said it was a Ciroen that used to belong to her Grandfather.

Looks like a Citroen 15 from around 1950.
