Congrats Ed, from a Bristow Oz pilot. Oh and the EC225 is a far superior aircraft to the S92. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

Congrats Ed, you have done very well indeed biggrin

Look forward to seeing you at Bristow, I have just finished my S92 convex at West Palm Beach and it is an awesome beast indeed and the company seems fantastic too. Enjoy the champers tonight, now the hard work starts wink

Well done. You've certainly gone from probably the most boring job in the world to one of the most exciting. thumbup

So... Training starts next week. 3 weeks in Dundee on fixed wing for PPL(A) and then back to insurance sales until I get dates to go to Florida

Well done! That is quite an achievement just getting to this stage. Get stuck into it and enjoy, flying is a fantastic career and getting someone else to pay for your training is so rare in the industry that it's almost unheard of.

Keep at it and if you get stuck with anything, there are plenty of pilots on here that will be happy to help out and the rotary section on Pprune is about the only part of that once excellent site that is really filled with people who know what they are talking about.

Go and buy the Wally Wagtendonk book on Helicopter aerodynamics, it is the best one out there and if it helps an idiot like me work out how the damned things stay up in the air, then it must be good!

Interesting that you are doing PPL(A) first, but makes a lot of sense.

At Bristow Academy do you then start on piston helis (S.300s?) or straight on to turbines (B206s)?
