Mat, me and the missus say that all the time. some of it must be staged and some things planted to make it interesting TV. Not saying that it all is, as others have said, people could hav been imprisoned, otherwise engaged or just died. How cool was the chevvy pick up though!!!!

I think its more the dirty tricks some of them use - like screwing over their competitors by bidding up bins they dont want but the competition do

£26.5k for the Tesla I believe it was.

Although it was pretty fake looking to me. This container had been sitting for weeks/months I presume (owner not paid for a while hence the auction) but at the end they jumped into the car in the newly opened container and just drove off.....

How much battery would be left then?
There's a joblot of this on this afternoon,i am having a gardening break honest, and seen the

Tesla episode for the first time, went for $26,000.

If it had been sitting around for months ,why was it completely dustfree ?

I smell a rat......again..........fake fake fake.....

That is just business!??! If the competition don't make as much money they might not bid in future which means better chances for them in future to get them cheaper and make more money?

Plus it can go wrong which is always nice..

I flicked over to "Dave" for a minute and they were showing the Tesla episode again.

I can't quite believe they recognised it as a Tesla immediately,i thought it was an Evora.

Are Tesla's so well known even to americans ?

Watched 4 episodes of this for the first time earlier on today.

Guys finds a buggy that would not have looked out of place in mad max, takes the blanket off, it's charged up, and has fuel in for the flame thrower.

It won't be on my viewing list for the future, that's for sure.

Absolute nonsense. I remember them finding a Crystal meth lab in one container, then a dead body in another.

My recording messed up last night - how much did they pay for the Tesla?
annoyingly i cant remember but i dont think it was much more than $30k, yes its terrible tv, yes it probably fake but who really cares.

Interesting thread on the tesla owners site about the car in questions though I think as amateur sleuths we do a better job here!.. smile

http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/showthread.php/7581...
I actually read that thread to the end, the current owner of the car chipped in and said they bought the car off the bloke off the show for 81k. So by the looks of it not all of it is faked though I do find it interesting that nobody apart from the stars actually seems to win an auction.

AFAIK they only show the auctions the stars win, rather than the stars winning all the auctions.

Slightly O/T, but I think the new Dave advert for this is very funny, where the off-screen director (who sounds like David Mitchell but probably isn't) keeps trying to make them speak properly.

"Come on Green Mile, cut the lock"

Shocked Response from the entire group of bidders, even if it's a really boring unit

"I don't want this unit, but I can see that someone else wants it, so I'm gonna bid it up to make them pay"

[Bidding goes higher than expected]

"Why did I pay that much, look at all this crap, there's nothing good in here"

[Rummaging around old cardboard boxes and bin-bags, opens a dirty old box]

"WHOAH Sean look at this! Oh my god!"

[Advert break]

"This is a [valuable antique weapons/diamond jewelry/gold coins/motorbike], this is worth 10 times what I paid for the unit"

repeat ad infinitum...
