sorry, didn't come up in 'my stuff' for some reason
anyways, we expanded it by ripping down one of the large ovens, added an incline bench and a back rower and moved things around so now I have somewhere dedicated for deadlifts, here's a sort of walk through how it is now.
new incline bench, I also use it as a temporary squat rack for now as the supports go pretty high, Kelton off ebay rated at 300kg, bit clunky to alter but build quality is pretty good for the price. back row machine directly in frony of pic

on right: chest press, then upright pulley machine, 3rd one along is shoulder press
Left: lat machine, three adjustable benches, smith machine & 8 - 50 kg dumbells, far distance is the multi angle / function twin cable, brilliantly flexible that really gets you thinking of new stuff

new 9 speaker Bose sound sytem with large bass box, no neighbors and an 800w yamaha amp

beyond the oak uprights is where the oven was, now machines in there and the cv equipment spaced out

I could never go back to a normal gym, in a couple of years it will be moved to the big barn at which point we'll add some more stuff.

Fookin hell.
I'd seen the photos on your build thread, and whilst I'm a newbie to these parts the old hands have commented on your dedication to training hard.
I'm speechless.
Although, gotta drop points for no squat cage!
Quick question - I've read and been told lots about the limitations of machines compared to barbells/free weights. Assuming you agree with that, what made you choose the machines you've chosen?

cage / rack will be added but legs have never really been that important to me, they're pretty big naturally anyway & gain size silly quick, saying that, squatting has become more important lately as I approach my latter years to retain core strength & balance.Quick question - I've read and been told lots about the limitations of machines compared to barbells/free weights. free weights & barbells all the way, nautilus (the original machines) have allot to answer for in terms of core strength issues I reckon, but that said its still better than no exercise at all
& they're very good if your trying to protect an injury or rehabilitate after an accident
& very good at isolating an area (machine preacher curls for instance)Take the smith machine, hated by many because a squat rack is better for squats and a barbell better for benching, true. But I do standing calf raises with over 200kg on it which I could not do with anything else, the stack on a standing calf raise machine comes nowhere near heavy enough and a free weight barbell loaded with over 200kg on a squat rack would not hit the calves after you're finished balancing (nit sure it'd eve be possible tbh) so smith machine is the only thing that'll let me do it.
They're not my first choice and only used after free weight work, i sort of pre exhaust with free weights & then isolate with a machine, they have their place / use.
if we didn't have the space then there wouldn't be any machines

glad you like the thread & thanks for taking the time to read it

Built (seems that I can only load one photo a time):

Full room shot won't upload, but that can wait until the walls and floor are painted and I've laid the laminate offcuts inside the floor of the cage. Need to clear the racking on the right as well and rip that down so I've a bit more space.
Dead chuffed, no more putting up with retards down the local gym.
Everything bought from www.exercise.co.uk, sport-tech cage and flat bench (cage comes with a slightly over 7'bar as the cage is wider than normal), and a 145kg marcy tri grip iron plate/barbell set.

Just spent the day clearing out the back of the garage (partitioned with a simple stud/plasterboard wall to keep outdoor stuff in the front).
Then built my squat cage!

on same note, that guy has some serious core strength, are the anti gravity boots bolted to the wall?
looks very good, will be interested to hear the details of the rack & how it performs, it looks very well made (if not put together
)
Cage seems really good for the dosh - about half the price of any other I could find with the full box section safeties rather than piddly sabre bars. Meant I only got a flat bench as budget was creeping rapidly...
Need some more updates on your place fella, give me more ammo to work on a grown ups weekend away...
