When did you last see a 'Jellymould' Sierra?

Saw this today in a local field. I could shake the front left wing and what remained of the bulkhead moved with it..

No floorpan anymore and the left suspension turret has fallen into the engine bay.
Safe to say, this won't buff out..
I trip over an XR4i daily, aswell as a couple of Citroen BXs and an Alfa 75. All I need is a mk2 Cavvy and a Montego and I'm away!

I don't know, a bit of t cut and some new wheel trims and it'll be brand new!
As sure as day follows night...

If I was a gambling man, I'd bet my house on the T-Cut comment whenever there's a picture of an accident-damaged vehicle.
And I know this is also a PH meme, but...

My mate had an XR4x4 a few years ago, before it did what all Fords do an needed f
k loads of welding to get through the MOT. I sold him my 328i and that was it.
If you ask me, Ford went to pot after they ditched the Sierra for the Mundano and now they're just s
te.
My 328i reminded me a lot of my XR4i. I think the V6 liked to rev more than the BM straight 6, although both were "strangled" at birth.....in different ways. Both were great fun with a LSD on and the BM was a lot quicker at continental speeds

Pinto will still run, might need new plugs though
Those Pintos were tough as old boots. I overheated and seized mine solid. Turning the key just produced a hollow sounding clunk. Sat in a pub car park, had a cold beer and watched it pour steam and sizzling oil all over the shop. Topped up the expansion tank, turned the key and it fired up. Not only that but got us the rest of the 200 mile trip with just a couple of coolant top ups. Got around to replacing the head gasket about 6 months later.
Try that with one of your new fangled all-aluminium fairy engines.

I likes his XR4x4 a lot. If that bodywork was as bullet proof as the engine no doubt he'd still have it. Proper rear biased 4x4 too, none of this understeering Audi guff. The 328i was a lot faster, I remember having to hold back following him once.

Mine was just the rwd '4i - didn't have the 4wd of the 5-door...... but usefully quicker in a straight line on account of the lighter weight and less transmission drag
I occasionally see a J-reg Sierra sitting outside someone's house locally, never seen it actually moving. It was always looking in great condition, but I wasn't in a position to look at it up-close.
I had a small bump with my car recently (someone ran into the back of me) and I put my car into a local bodyshop I have used for nearly 20 years now. I spotted the J-reg Sierra in there and spoke to one of the guys about it to see what it was getting done to it, he said it was a wreck and it needs LOADS of welding, new sills, new wheelarches, new rear panel etc. Apparently the owner wants to get it all fixed up for it's 25th birthday.

Used to be ten-a-penny around here as there's a preety big Ford scene in these parts but over the past 5yrs, they all seem to have disappeared. A mate has an F plate Sapphire Cosworth - astounding how old and small it fells these days, exposed screw heads everywhere and it's dwarfed by the latest generation of Corsas / Fiestas / Clios. I did see a Magenta Sapphire Cosworth out in the wild at Breahead a few months back - standard, bit tatty but it was awesome as it had that "I don't care, I just drive it" vibe which is a rare thing given most are now pampered show queens these days.
Aside for that Copart have had a couple on lately... one utterly destroyed estate and currently there's a red GSL saloon which looks kinda cool.
As for Cavalier's, I still drive them... they're modern in my world.

Saw a bloke today, working on the underside of a jacked up rear end, in a garage, it was covered, with one corner slightly lifted (where he was working). I imediately thought 'ooooh 3 door'. I confirmed with a second, prolonged pass.
I once popped into a small indy to ask directions in a small village in the arse end on nowhere. Once in the gate, I spotted a monster of a 3 door, full Texaco rep. Turned out to be running 600 odd bhp with everything from AP's to Sachs sorting everything else. LHD and apparently a Motorsport shell.
3 door cossie is one car I will definately own one day.

OT slightly but I saw an Escort Cosworth this week, exactly the same. Looked tiny, bit grubby, appeared a daily driver. Lush.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
