I'll continue to identify myself as Scottish.
That seems to be your only concern, as any other issues you are asked about are ignored.
Neither bit of the UK will be instantly better or worse off due to the split but they'll both be invigorated by their new environments.
It will be interesting.

Nope, my main concern is to have fun, and a shiny new Scotland is much more fun than a tired old UK.

LOL. Both will be poorer, it will cost a fortune. Scotland in particular will be socially riven if separation occurs, the rest of the UK will consider the Scots fair weather friends.Neither bit of the UK will be instantly better or worse off due to the split but they'll both be invigorated by their new environments.
It will be interesting.

And it will be the same old Scottish socialist mafia, as corrupt and wrong headed as ever. You want new and shiny? Vote UKIP.

Memo: the empire is over. The UK is not 'all that' anymore. Deal.

So you will be able to explain the differences between govan and newcastle or sheffield or manchester or bradford or leeds or liverpool
and please include why these cities are doing so much better then glasgow or edinburgh
Because they dont put two way mirrors in the ladies bogs perhaps? and please include why these cities are doing so much better then glasgow or edinburgh

Their perspex backed urinals predates all this voyeuristic behaviour by decades now.
Oh, sorry, that must mean Scotland's 'leading the way' doesn't it?!?!?!
Due to work commitments and travel arrangements last week, I drove my, (particularly staunce nationalist), project manager from Warrington to Edinburgh on Thursday and, of course, the independence issue came up.
Now to be fair, while he's very opionated and closing on retirement age so wants to live on a croft in the highlands, he does actually put up a good argument. The basis for his arguments are however tainted with 'Thatcher' and the decimation of Scottish communities. He doesn't seem to be able to see that those nationalised industries were a drain on the rest of the UK society.
Now here's the thing he hit me with that I can't quite get my head around...
...He reckons that any opportunity should be available to anyone anywhere and that 'industry should be shared around the country equally.
Such a socialist mindset I couldn't have imagined.
OK, so the vast majority of fiscally 'centric' jobs will be based around London, but that's the way it's evolved.
You couldn't build a financial 'centre of excellence' in Stornoway any more than you could run a croft in the centre of London!
How can you possibly move the goalposts so dramatically in such a short period of time and expect them to take root?
Beats the s
t outta me!

Another one with no grasp of economics I see, seems to be a common thread amongst Nationalists.Neither bit of the UK will be instantly better or worse off due to the split but they'll both be invigorated by their new environments.

So it seems. Their 'new' will undoubtably be the same labour folks they have voted for for the last however many decades. Do they think that the political system will be brushed away, with the old politicians, and news ones, completely different politicians in their place? What will be 'new and shiny'?
