That's just utter ste though, isn't it?

The reality is that the Audi driver made a silly mistake, causing the person he overtook some alarm and lo: the world didn't end.

Had the Caterham driver not been filming his antics, I very much doubt this manoeuvre would have made it to the dining room table the same evening.

Ergo, no: it's not worth the sodding bandwith.
It wasn't a "silly mistake" it was a deliberate illegal overtake, crossing double solid white lines.

You've actually reinforced his point, without meaning to.

No.

More likely to have been a Saab driver. They're the worst.

Nothing on Pistonheads has ever been life-changing, significant or necessary stuff. Should we shutdown the whole site?

Maybe everyone who comments on it being a typical Audi driver should post their own car brands and I will post links from you tube on erratic driving.

Hardly of a gentle persuasion are you? Unless.. you were the driver of the Audi?
Anyway, no one is forcing you to read or contribute to this thread, if you don't like it, do one.
Some people rolleyes

p.s. using the words "lo" and "ergo" and your use of colons (seriously, who does that?) make you look a massive knob.

I think saying "do one" is worse than using colons, actually. Most people use them in written English, surely? And I even say that as a scot, so you can factor in advanced illiteracy, a heroin addiction and alcoholism.

What does "do one" mean? Do one of what?

And a complete and total vitamin deficiency too surely?

Naturally. Goes without saying, in fact. Any typos are of course due to my fingernails dropping out...

It was cockish driving. Hopefully by discussing it, analysing it etc it will reduce the chance of somebody else trying to do the same.

The only reason we don't have more fatalities is because usually other drivers anticipate cockish driving and take avoiding action.

Indeed, buying an Audi is a symptom not a cause.

Do one means he should go away. If you're going to ask me to explain that then I might also have to explain how one is to "run out" of something (because running is done with legs!)
HTH.

..hmm, what is it with Audi drivers? I can only assume its because your Audi TDI is a typical company car choice of so many stressed out middle management and career types who are always in a hurry. Weird, because something like A skoda Superb has exactly the same engine and many of the same parts, but when was last time you were cut up by a Skoda Superb?

I drive the cat and fiddle a lot and have some sympathy with this guy. Along with the speed limit being too low, the double whites are excessive and all the danger signs cause numpties to drive too slow. He should have pulled out earlier to get a better view and would have got back in sooner.

Personally I think the person who posted the clip on you tube is the biggest tool here.

I dont think that'd help anyone.

I love the Snake Pass, I had one of those legendary drives on it at the end of March. Decent day, quick'ish car and a fair few willing dawdlers made for a great series of overtakes with an unknown wingman behind me. You have to know where your best chances are, there are areas where it's well sighted for about 2 miles ahead looking round the side of a mountain. This video probably wasnt one of those, but it is on the whole a good overtakers road
