Much as I like these, they seem like a bit of a throwback nowadays, even at a reduced price they will plummet in value, not sure how many they sell nowadays, the Germans seem to have that market sewn up.
I know someone here who may not agree with you. They don't seem to particularly depreciate more (or less for that matter) than German "equivalents" in % terms.

I cant mention driving dynamics as I havent driven either, but if the 370z drives anything like the 350z (which I have driven several) then id still put the money in BMW's hands as the 350z felt crap compared to a decent set up hot hatch.
Really, anyone who wants a posh "hot hatch" over a 370z for anything other than practicality reasons is barking! My argument can go both ways as I have I haven't driven them, but by judging from the 350z I would rather have a decent hatch.
BUT if the 370z actually drove like a proper sports car of course I would take it over a hatch.

Ok I'm not attempting to start a new vs used argument but for a lightly used M135i, I give you...

Well the 350Z drives nothing like most hot hatches (predictably, as it substantially different), and is highly regarded as a drivers car (still an EVO 5-star car), and having previously owned one, I agree..Edited by russy01 on Friday 24th May 12:27
As far as drivers car goes I found the 350z fell very short. It felt lazy, heavy and just not that exciting.
But don't worry I'll stick to my massively assisted FWD trolley of an S2000!
But back on topic. Yes it's great value, but I'd only choose to buy one if its (IMO) a much better car than the 350z, not just newer and quicker.

Not sure about the stated fuel figures but my 370Z has (according to,the dashboard) done 7.1l/100km over past 70,000km which is about 30mpg I think.
that's a mix of bumbling about in town and high speed long runs. Admittedly it is never driven in an environment as congested as the UK, and probably half those KM's are done at 200kph with no one in the way.
also, a simple exhaust and, intake upgrade (mine from HKS) makes the car sound epic, gets you a significant power upgrade and helps with the cooling!!
I love mine, 135i was on the shopping list, but for same spec I couldn't justify the extra cost whilst looking at everyone else in the same car just in 1.8l

It's amazing how much attitudes have changed around PH these days.
The 370Z is a great little car for the money, more importantly for most of the motoring public its a proper sports car that looks & sounds like one.
Given the choice there's no way I'd chose a bland 1 series no matter how good, it just isn't a car I can ever get excited about. I agree that a lot of folk will wince at the running costs on the Z but I'd wager it's more of a car you buy with your heart.
The £25-30k price bracket is becoming very interesting these days-the Z, toyobaru's, über-hatches & the 1 series, we've never had such good choice.

M135i though?...
But what if the sight of a M135i makes you sick up a little bile into your mouth whenever you see one? I can't believe we have people recommending that absolute abortion of a hatchback design and, yet, openly criticise the 370Zs styling! The only thing putting me off the 370Z is not the price. It's the weight and the driving experience. It's neither sports car or muscle car. Nissan seemed to have pitched it, in the US, as a junior Corvette, but that it just doesn't work as a pitch in Europe. I really wanted to like these, and the 350Z, but came away buying something else each time I test drove them.
Or best of both worlds? Good looking coupe with the 135i drivetrain
