Saw this 3 touring in Derby with a customised M badge! All red - no blue! Also red BMW badges incl the wheels and a number of McLaren window stickers.

^ Nothing says sporty like a fake ///M badge, a tow bar and probably a 4-pot diesel engine.

That would be my guess.

Maybe he was hoping the badge would also add another 2 cylinders to the engine...hehe

My word, I think there's a BMW under there somewhere. One that crashed through halfords and into starbucks and then picked up a TV aerial en route for the boot, but a BMW nonetheless !

So.... I jokingly posted on here a few days ago after seeing the fake Mercedes AMG pic with "NOT A" post it noted next door to the fake badge..

I joked that we should do this to fake //M's.

Trust me - I didn't think I'd get the chance to do so for a loong time if ever.

But.. I'm on holiday in Cornwall and while picking up a takeaway came across one of the famous single piped M3 convertibles, with a towbar where the badge had mysteriously moved to wrong side of the boot.. (that BMW made in a very limited run obviously" wink

So it was an opportunity too good to miss. One quick request to the manager for a post it note and....

And in close up...

Yes - It's juvenile. But maybe he'll at least be marginally embarrassed when he comes out of the restaurant.

Genuinely considering starting a "NOT An //M" thread and see if anyone else cares to join in. Together we will rid the UK of the scourge of the fake M..

Parked next to a 3 series today with not only the M badge on the back but one smack in the middle of the passenger side dash. Being as the badge is flat and the surface it was stuck to was curved it was not even stuck on properly. Wish I'd had some post-its!
