Given it was rampant do you agree his lifetime ban is OTT while others get off Scott free or 6 months..... Seems utterly unjust to me. From someone who only watches cycling at the Olympics and is aware of his charity work - but I am totally discounting his charity work in its unfairness on him.

The bullying nasty person ruining careers etc well frankly from a cycling body what does the have to do with anything? Surely this is civil cases against him - plus from a highly driven individual (just like in any company) you are pushed very very hard to deliver as are made very clear if you don't your out
As bad as lots have made out about these claims come off it yes it's clearly not nice but open your eyes if you don't think countless others are just the same ad millions much much worse than him you are being naive. We don't all hold hands dancing chanting ring a ring of roses with everyone being super kind and generous to each other....isn't that utopia a mythical place
There seems to be little doubt that LA brought cheating to a new level. He also brought winning to a new level by such methods. Further, during his pre-partial confession days he attacked the USDA using his authority in the sport, gained by cheating.

He is still on the attack as well, refusing to cooperate with the USDA. He shows a singular lack of contrition, in direct contrast to Millar and Hamilton.

He could, if he wished, reduce the length of his ban, as others have done, by cooperating but he has decided not to. So the life-time ban is something which he can control.

It is not a lifetime ban as such. It is probably a ten year ban in practice.

I don't think his charity work stands up under close scrutiny. Whilst many have benefited from Livestong, one of them is LA. I'm not suggesting anything illegal.

My reading of this is that LA is not willing to sell his testimony - the only card he holds - in order to further the personal ambitions of Travis Tygart: notwithstanding that the offer of a ban that runs out as he hits 50 is a complete piss-take.

Is anyone else likely to buy?

LA is after competing, if we believe what he is saying at the moment, so an 8-year ban is all but a lifetime ban. I would have thought, though, that if he did cooperate he would, at the very least, have a chance to negotiate a reduction as time went on. His actions, particularly his criticisms of the USDA, were bound to cost him if he didn't carry through with them.

However, I'm wondering if his refusal to testify under oath is more about the money. He will be asked questions which he can, up until a civil case, avoid. Even during a civil case he has some control of the content. Further, there's the US way with negotiating penalties. The USPS are claiming £30m but will, in all probability, settle for less, considerably less. However, if LA has put himself away on oath, the amount might well go up a bit.

I can't see it being personal. Tygart has won. Not only that, he's got kudos from it all after looking likely, at least to me, to be kicked out of his job. I would assume his lawyers will be telling LA what to do, what tactics to use, and what targets he could hit.

I think LA is concentrating on keeping as much money as he can. Given his $millions he's unlikely to be a pauper, even after his lawyers have been paid, but his personal fortune is going to take a massive hit. Tygart is the least of his ambitions.

And there we have it.

The US govt just filed against Lance to the tune of £78m.

Now the real fight begins.

Quite disgraceful - had the perfect opportunity to expose all the drug cheats festering away in Spanish sports. Hopefully somehow they can overturn the decision to destroy the blood bags. Maybe it was all the death threats the judge was getting from Barcelona and Real Madrid fans that influenced her decision.

Your blood becomes so oxygenated that you can hold your breath underwater for ages. Makes catching the fish easier. smile

American Football doesn't even make the list, so I'm guessing some sports fall outside USADA's jurisdiction.
