Quite right, it's far from certain. What is certain is changeable weather between now and then, windy and wet included.

It's not all doom and gloom. GFS and ECM charts both point to a warm up at the start of next week (after a terrible weekend).
How's Norn Iron looking for Saturday Puggit?

Wet and windy! As per above, the weekend is NOT looking good for outdoor stuff.

Sunday probably better than Saturday.

I'm volunteering at the Supercar Event down at Dunsfold on the weekend. I have taken the precaution of packing full wet weather clothing in the boot of the car.

Should make for interesting conditions for the supercar rides.

Looks like a brief return of summer on Tues/Weds in the South East only. Mid 20s possible.

eek

I'm hoping the rain/wash out the news are reporting is going to come earlier then we can have a nice July/August.

I know the above won't happen and we're more likely to have a st summer as usual though.

I remember fondly equally promising charts in the "beast from the east" farce of 2012/13. yes

I don't believe it!

It's looking very likely now, but as per above it will be short and it's likely to break down with a bit of thunder (whoop!)

There is a massive Azores high at the moment, and it's looking likely to give us a bit of summer late June/early July.

Thunderstorms likely south of the M4 Monday evening/Tues morning as things hot up. Then likely again in the South on Thursday as the heat breaks down.

Chaps. On the BBQ front. What wood should one use if one wanted to do some slow and indirect cooking? I'm thinking of ribs and probably a beer can chicken. Both would be in my 57cm Outback dome BBQ.

I don't suppose, by any chance that all the spare off cuts I have from decking my yard last year would be of a suitable type? hehe
