Maybe you missed my post above; it went up around the same time as you posted yours. I don't consider any car to be particularly 'big' when the roads are designed to take 44-ton artics. It certainly doesn't feel much wider than any of my other cars, past or present. It's barely an inch wider than my CLS, and 3" narrower than my F150.

But if you want wider cars, here are 30 European ones that are wider than a Camaro. There are plenty more.

That list is nonsense remove the SUVs and what do you have? the M3 is no where near as wide..that is total bullst and you know it...they are measured at the mirrors..
Have it your way. I'll continue to enjoy driving mine without wedging myself into every available gap, using my super-human powers of 'being able to drive'. Can I suggest, since you're so fixated, one of these....?

Are you familiar with the legendary Firebird Trans Am models?

Why are you turning this into something personal? This has no reflection on you or your car or some imaginary fixation you perceive me to have...it's just a simple pedantic internet time wasting debate

Doodles19 might not be, but I have had three of them including a proper 77 SE with the black on gold theme rather than the gold on black.. that would be worth three times what I paid for it back then frown and would look very nice parked next to my 580hp 2002 supercharged TA

I love Yank cars and ran an IROC-Z Camaro and an LT1 Corvette for 8 years as daily drivers. Being LHD made 'em special to me. Every time I climbed in it was an occasion and that's one of the reasons I bought American. Overtaking was never an issue as far as I remember.
I wouldn't go near a RHD Yank, the same way I wouldn't want a RHD Integrale or F40 or Enzo. And whoever would want a 2.0 litre diesel Camaro like someone suggested? PURLEASE!

The same people who would drive an Audi A3 2.0 TDI S-Line or BMW 118d M Sport presumably! Good looks with low running costs and mediocre performance.

From the website

http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro-performance-car/fe...

Width, Max w/o mirrors 75.50 in 75.50 in SO the mirros are less than 7 inches?

You have seen this car in the flesh right? to say it's not a big car is ridiculous..the figures are there..its is 75.5 WITHOUT the mirrors...there is one parked up near me I'll take a picture and you can see how it compares in city parking spots..it's huge
See my car every day on the flesh... What you seem to fail to understand with your "mirrors are less than 7 inches" is that the mirrors on the Camaro are sitting way inward of the car's side profile, which makes them barely protrude the sideline.

The rear is the widest part for that matter, with 75;5 inches. In my case, due to the wider wheels, the actual widest point is the rear wheel.

And I believe that that is what they're trying to tell you here all along, the Camaro is not the widest at the mirrors, much like a Zonda who has the mirrors on top of the canopy.

Neither of those were mine, although I have seen a fair few in the states and they did look fairly big. Whether or not they are bigger or not than the above doesn't matter really to me. It should be fast with 400+ HP but this again is my main issue with the whole muscle car scene. Having lived in the US for a while I became a little tired about conversations of 1/8ths and 1/4 miles and the current crop of retro styled cars leave me cold. Each to their own but properly fast cars cant live with bikes, which is what I grew up with therefore I prefer something else.
That's odd as I too grew up with bikes, in fact I've never been without one and currently have a GSXR1000 and 750. A properly fast car can live with a bike......

....just not where there's traffic as a bike can filter wink

Most of those cars you want removed from that list are normal cars though.

An M3 is 77.8 inches wide.
The Camaro is 76.9.

So an M3 is wider than a Camaro.
Measured at the mirrors. You've seen both cars right?
Surely you are just trolling, right?

If not I suggest you go to spec savers or failing that, surrender your license because if you think the Camaro is too wide for our roads, you clearly can't drive. No it's not huge. Yes it's shorter than a Mondeo and slightly wider. Who cares? I see much wider vans and cars fitting hrough the streets of London without any problems. As for all this 'at the mirrors' nonsense, read the replies you've had. As for 'its not fast', have you seen the ZL1's ring time?? Mind you I'm sure the base model will be more than fast enough for you as you struggle to navigate our tiny roads in this massive over sized monster;)

I like the looks, although I still prefer the Stang on the inside. I think it's a bit of a coincidence the rear lights were changed. When the C7 was released, lots of people were moaning it had Camaro style rear lights. Then the face lifted Camaro gets a light change....

Could the thread get back on topic now?

Great looking car and very good value. Whats wrong with these pussies that call themselves drivers that moan about a car being a LHD.I myself can drive both LHD/RHD so not bothered by it being LHD.Have owned many American cars in LHD form.

What the hell has that got to do with anything? Do you normally drive with yours folded in?

Camaro mirrors don't fold, they are solidly mounted. As has been said at least twelve times, they don't need to because they are not the widest part of the car. Of course the euro spec one will probably have to have bigger folding mirrors put on like the Vette's do. Which will make it far too wide to cope with rolleyes

Really like these cars. All of 'em actually. To bad I'll probably never own one because of the silly tax system over here. The annual road tax for a big American V8 is likely to be over £4k. It's also about £4k just to register it under your name. I really don't think I'd survive the shock of opening a letter with an £8k billing in it! LOL. Saddest part is I'm not the only one so I've never been able to actually hear a modern American V8 roar past frown
If you buy a second hand one imported by an american the road tax should be fixed at the 225 point as its an import.(till they change it again)
