I agree on the five bar gate being crap but that chart's wrong. My 1970 125 had the pre-65 badge on it. Part of the grille moulding too. And when the blue /F/I/A/T/ logo came in later it was white on black for a while.

Is that my anorak?

I don't know, Fiat from 1931 to 1938 has a nice art deco feel to it.

This one (along with most of their cars) was pretty awful:

Blue oval was NEVER available on mk1 escorts. Only "F.O.R.D" letters.

The blue oval came in part way through the mk2

Sorry to be anal wink
In fairness, that was a poor one on my part! tongue out

Thought of another one, along the same lines as the 'baby' Italian ones, the Volvo 'prancing moose' always makes me smile.

Interesting back story there about Toyota too. Gives the badge a whole different light!

Saw an advert for the new Ford B Max there, Not a car I really like, although the door arrangement is pretty clever!

It got me thinkIng though, the blue oval is one of the most widely recognisable car brand logos in the world. It has adorned such fine metal as the Cortina, Rs200, Mustang and Mk1 Escort. Each a completely different car, but all identifiable by the badge on the front.

So over to you PH, I was wondering what are the best and worst car badges/logos out there?

Model A in 1927 used it though and the Mk 1 Escort was an exception = most Fords had them a the bottom of the front wings

I recall them well on my Mk 1 and II Cortinas.

Oh I don't know, a swirling plughole with the company letter disappearing down it seems apt.

It looks like a piece of jewellery from Elizabeth Duke! I( love the cars, just not the tacky badge.

The Lotus badge is a good one.

Slightly off topic but these always make me smile.

The baby Jaguar one would look great on an X-Type and if I ever had a Fiat Coupe I would have some baby Ferrari shields on the front wings.
These are great thumbup

This is a clever one. Horizontally-opposed pistons and the '86' lettering designed to look like a four-wheel drift.
