I have absolutely no idea why you would think this was a good move. BliarOut said:

Well done! What's the story to that if you don't mind sharing? The short version is that my twin sons and two other kids were deemed a little too un-athletic for the team they used to play for. With this in mind, I set up a B team that then merged with another side that were close to folding due to lack of numbers. First season we were relegated by a distance but last season, we had a much better campaign and won the title with two games to spare, hence the trophy.

I run an under-12s football team in Bristol.

Great story and well deserved. So does this mean that you're in the same league as the A team next season? If so, I'd love an update. The A team are in Division One, we will be in Division Three next season. So still two divisions behind them... although we might have a sniff of promotion this coming year. There isn't any animosity between the sides at all; the A team coach gave me a season's warning that he'd be "releasing" my boys so I set up a Saturday League side just to give them some game time while I set the B team up officially. They did well that season reaching the Cup Final and finishing third in the league but I used a lot of his players as I only had four of my own.
Once the team developed and grew to 7 or 8, this other team came along with 8 of their own and the new venture was complete. We had some real beatings that season (2011/12). I remember us being 14-1 down at half time once and coming back to only lose 17-8 in the end. Once we got to 11-a-side football, everything clicked and we only lost once last season.
