I was experimenting with taking a photo of myself. The naïve wall art isn't mine; but I like it.
I have absolutely no idea why you would think this was a good move.
I thought it was you at first glance...

I run an under-12s football team in Bristol.

The short version is that my twin sons and two other kids were deemed a little too un-athletic for the team they used to play for. With this in mind, I set up a B team that then merged with another side that were close to folding due to lack of numbers. First season we were relegated by a distance but last season, we had a much better campaign and won the title with two games to spare, hence the trophy.

Down to my coach really. He deals with all the coaching side of it; I just make sure he has enough players, approach parents of potential players, provide the equipment, help select the team, organise the training and matchday venues and run the financial side. He's brilliant with the on-field stuff, I deal with everything else and together we make a great team. It was a joint award so I get that trinket for six months then he can have it!!

Great story and well deserved. So does this mean that you're in the same league as the A team next season? If so, I'd love an update. smile

Thanks for the comments all.

The A team are in Division One, we will be in Division Three next season. So still two divisions behind them... although we might have a sniff of promotion this coming year. There isn't any animosity between the sides at all; the A team coach gave me a season's warning that he'd be "releasing" my boys so I set up a Saturday League side just to give them some game time while I set the B team up officially. They did well that season reaching the Cup Final and finishing third in the league but I used a lot of his players as I only had four of my own.

Once the team developed and grew to 7 or 8, this other team came along with 8 of their own and the new venture was complete. We had some real beatings that season (2011/12). I remember us being 14-1 down at half time once and coming back to only lose 17-8 in the end. Once we got to 11-a-side football, everything clicked and we only lost once last season.
