M33UFO I think you should get a 997 GT3.
Im the look out for a 996 GT3 in red, yellow or another bright colour. Was going to look at the 993 RS rep in speed yellow on PH but not going to now.
Most 997 GT3's are just a little outside my budget generally. The SY 993 RS rep does look good in the pics. Although logically, for the same kind of money you're getting an actual GT3 so probably a good move. Shame they're all silver or black at the moment. Look forward to hearing about what you pick up.
edit...I did have a quick look at a Maserati Granturismo S in Cardiff Bentley yesterday and it looked epic. Seemed well priced too. Unfortunately had just been sold. Wouldn't have been a long term prospect as it's probably just to physically large but absolutely beautiful car.

If the yellow car is the one I'm thinking of it's had loads of owners hasn't it? Something like 14 or 15 yet the last two owners had it over 5 or 6 years, so it works out that for the first 12 years of its life, it averaged one owner a year!
Lovely looking thing though and nicely done. The guy who done all the work is on here and the guy that bought it off him. I considered it after the sale of my 964T but figured why go from a rare-ish factory car to a lookalike, hence I went GT3. It is what it is and will always be sought after, hence easier to get out of in a hurry if I ever need to.

That looks clean Dom, what's the mileage? Have you had it long?
There must be 5 or 6 MK1 Clubbies in Guards red on here now, I can think of mine, yours, JM racing, Rathur and Red997.
Mine has the 6 pots and Alcons but they're horrible on the road. I keep thinking of reverting to factory spec but don't know whether just to fit standard MK2 discs and pads instead.
ETA - Nice looking garage by the way.
Thanks Mark, had it for around 4 months and it has just done over 50K miles....absolutely love it There must be 5 or 6 MK1 Clubbies in Guards red on here now, I can think of mine, yours, JM racing, Rathur and Red997.

I have the same front brakes as you, but find then fine for road use and the only time I tracked it at Combe they were superb. As to the garage I had that built about 2 years ago, wide enough for 2 cars with doors open and long enough for me to have a sofa and my office at the end and it is fully heated so the cars don't get cold.

Sounds like my dream garage then. I'll get my double one day, but not until we move in a few years (sooner if we get bad neighbours again, the last lot of idiots have just moved out so we'll see what we get this time).

Yep, my brakes are the MK2 6 pots with Alcons and RS29 pads. Great when you're on it but the minute you just cruise for a mile or two, they lose their heat and are like a block of wood, hence you have to get them warmed up again. Given that most of my driving is steady road driving I'd prefer a better pad performance at normal temps. Like I say I may just fit standard MK2 discs and pads or I may revert to Mk1 4 pots and get the car back to factory spec. £3000 bill in the history file, so they're nice to have but a bit overkill really.
Lovely 993. I had those Techart wheels on my last car, a 964T. They obviously aren't factory but are period so I think that's fine. Great wheels. Wish I could have kept the 964T to go with my GT3 but I'm not that lucky.

Shall the GR mk1 CS meet up....my garage is waiting!!!
Excellent space that garage is (I mean in general, not for a GT3 meet).
I was hoping to organise a GT3 meet this summer but my wife is having quite a big op at the start of August, which involves 3/4 months recovery, hence we are just getting on top of housey stuff etc before she goes in, as it'll be nearer Xmas by the time she can lift or do much.
I'd have loved to do the Evo triangle and roads around there. I know Slippydiff, Keep it lit and the other usual suspects would have probably been up for it and Slippy knows all those roads too. Probably next year for me though.

There were a couple of t
ts up there early on Sunday morning, one in white 1M Coupe and another in a silver Mk1 996 GT3, driving like a pair of muppets they were, disgraceful behaviour

P.S Ade and I are planning another early morning outing to the Triangle in the next few weeks Mark. Let us know if you're up for it, to help you get a pass out you can tell the missus you'll be back home for lunchtime
