Fined £225k by ICO. Calling people on TPS.

Tell me, where do you bank or fill up with petrol? As most of these companies have fallen foul of the regulators and been fined at some point in their history.

Can't say I was overly impressed by Nev's management tips - Team Leader comes in to say he's got a problem with Chickenhead and Griff and wants to nip it in the bud.

Nev tells him there's a spectrum of management styles from "matey matey" to dicatorship and that he should nip the issue in the bud.

Team Leader suggests getting Floor Manager involved. Nev then suggests getting floor manager involved.

Brent's (?) parking was hilarious though, I nearly p1ssed myself when he drove off with the bumper hanging off and half a tree being dragged along (I realise it's likely to have been staged though). rofl

Chickenhead's parenting could do with some brushing up - he bounced the kids face off of the front of the rocking horse and then dumped her off the roundabout!

None of whom cold-call me.

Stop trying to lump these parasitic self-serving s into the wider corporate business sector.

Economic prosperity isn't so important that we can afford to ditch corporate responsibility.

But do you not see the advantage - to the UK - of Nev employing several hundred people in Swansea, as opposed to his offshore competitors who employ the same in Bangalore?

Just because you don't like cold callers, doesn't make it illegal...and such businesses also go some way to subsidising telephony costs for others (in the same way that junk mail helps to keeps the Royal Mail in business).

As for corporate responsibility, where is that being ditched?

I'm quoting that for the shining beacon of righteous hopeful naivety that it is. Truly the greatest post I've read on PH this week. laugh

I don't want to be cold called. Most people don't. Choosing between receiving UK or Asian cold calling is like choosing between eating UK or Asian poo. I haven't asked for either. It's inconvenient, every time they call. Every time.

The corporate responsibility bit pertains to respecting the wishes of people who don't want to be cold called, -those that put themselves on TPS. The company has chosen not to respect that. -That's irresponsible.

I'm surprised they got voted 2nd best place to work according to the Sunday Times top 100 companies. From watching the series so far I'm struggling to think of somewhere I'd less rather work at! Still kudos to Nev for generating employment in the area.

Oh and I'm surprised no one commented on this gem last night hehe

40% of his work force's peer group are unemployed. I imagine any job for them is a bonus, one which actively encourages "happy people" is sure to do well in any survey.

I can imagine the Times wincing at having this at No 2 in their survey!

Still it clearly works very well for his employees who are mostly youngsters...

Heard on the radio this a.m. that said call centre has been fined for illegally cold calling those on the telephone preference service.

I'd rather put sharp farm implements into myself than work there, but it's interesting to see how the half I really don't want to be live.

IMHO - Nev is pretty dim, but has an absolute genius for getting people to do really st jobs. Respect for that at least.

I thought this show was an ‘the office’ type comedy / joke. I saw episode one, and it was so far fetched and ridiculous that I was convinced it couldn’t be real. I’m genuinely amazed that this place actually exists.
