I would try PPC in Melton Mowbray too, they can provide a variety of service options to suit this type of need. Service is excellent and you will be well looked after.

Str8six for me too. Just dropped mine off today for its annual service. I tend to do around 3k a year and just get it serviced annually, alternating 6k and 12k. Jason and his team just pick up anything else that needs doing and let me know at the time.

I'm no mechanical expert but if your car has spent a lot of time sat around unused, just bite the bullet and go for a full check over and 12k.

A full service history is worth a lot on a TVR with a Speed Six engine.

Another vote for Str8Six. Mine had it's annual and MOT there last week. They are very busy at this time of year.

Hi Mark, what sort of costs are involved
6k £450
12k £1200+

I have done two of each at Power, that's what it has cost me on my Tam .
Hope that helps
Dale
Wow, you must have had other stuff done beyond the basic service on the 12k!!

6k back in 2011 at STR8SIX £325 basic
12k last year at STR8SIX £625 basic

These are base prices and obviously you have to expect some "extras" that need addressing. Jason will give you a breakdown, then it's up to you what work you and he feel is urgent, or not so urgent. Always found them to be honest and totally transparent, so fear not.
I tend to add a list of other stuff , like to keep on top of things . Pleased with the service from power .

Racing Green look after mine, and I have no regrets about that. Andy at APM is always really helpful, and worth a shout any time - both are in Hampshire.

What are your thoughts on this option?

Str8-six is the place to service your car , never mind the distance or price , many of us travel 300-400 mile return journeys or simply use the enclosed vehicle collection service.

I do not have experience of the others but obviously have read great things. However, I use Fernhurst without complaint and they are a lot closer to you.

Based on its history up to HHC getting it I would get the best you can to sort it., X Works, HHC, STR8SIX,

Do you remember the car surfacing in NI, or are you basing that comment of my opening post?

I think the car will go to STR8SIX, but not until later this summer.

I don't have a Tam, T350 or Sag but I bought my Tuscan from Str8six and will be taking it back there to get it serviced. The car was immaculately prepared and has been faultless since I've had it.

I remember the car surfacing and thought it looked good. My comments were actually based on your opening post and I am not suggesting for one minute that anything is wrong, just that if you cant pay full attention to finance payments then did the owner pay full attention to everything else?
Basically all I am suggesting is take it to the best place you can afford thats most convenient to you, which is what you appear to have done.
Health to enjoy your Sag - you are one of the lucky few owners

Well, I finally got the car serviced at STR8SIX.

Picked it up yesterday, got 5 minutes down the road, and did a 180deg spin! Luckily I didn't hit anything! smile

I won't be taking it out in the damp again!

No reason not to drive in cold/wet conditions, just drive it gently in this colder weather. I've never had an unexpected slip or spin in 15 years of Chimaera and T350 ownership.

Str8six have a great rep so I am sure they wont have over inflated the tyres but it is always worth checking the tyre pressures just in case, happened to me one time when I had some tyres fitted and was very slippy.

Not over, but definitely might be a factor. They like 26 psi, which IMO makes the car very sensitive. I run 24-25 psi.

Yep, even if you are really experienced with TVR's they can bite in damp conditions if you forget. I'd never lost one totally in over 30 years of driving them daily until September when I had a biggy by applying too much power in damp conditions resulting in writing off (Cat B) the Sag I'd owned from new.
