Sparks a hint of desperation.
Certainly not ugly but the rear spoiler in my eyes pushes it into Jaguar esque styling.
Bottom line for me as already asked, is it twice the car of a Jaguar XKR-S? I'm not convinced at all.

The Jags will inevitable take some sales
IME many will "buy with their heart" and end up in an Aston.
If the Vanquish is too much (price & styling) then the DB9.2 will fit the bill.

Do doubt. Certain cars can price hugely on the brand. Ferrari etc. Aston have done the same but for me the brand isn't the last word of exclusivity that it once was and without being too harsh, £200k for an overweight GT with over-trodden styling, I feel is pushing it.The Jags will inevitable take some sales

Of course some will buy regardless but I can't say there is a whole lot of value for money going on here.

But Aston has never worried about value for money

They sold all the 1-77's, they presold the 2 CC100's, they sold all 1000 V12V coupes and all 101 V12V roadsters. (just don't mention the overpriced V12 Zagota
)I do agree they are sitting on their (diminishing) laurels though.
