A picture a day....biker banter (Vol 2)
Discussion
A long run yesterday, about 200 miles. Saw these near Otterburn, not bikes, but as rare as a very rare thing:

What was particularly annoying was that I missed two Type 35 Bugattis that had passed before I got my camera out, and they were not hanging about either. There was another, larger saloon type Bugatti, but I couldn't identify it. So, five Bugattis on the same piece of road in a matter of minutes. Insurance bill anyone?
Also, too far away to photograph was an Apache firing at the Otterburn ranges. With binoculars, I could just make out the spent 30mm shell casings spilling out below the gun, but too far to hear the chain gun.
This is further on in the day, just off the B 6357, between Saughtree and Bonchester Bridge:

Fantastic...was this a planed day off or just a last minute skive?;)What was particularly annoying was that I missed two Type 35 Bugattis that had passed before I got my camera out, and they were not hanging about either. Years ago I was standing waiting at a cash point on the high street where I live. It was just getting dark and I heard what sounded like a WW2 fighter plane coming along the highstreet. You couldn't see what was making all the noise but then there was a huge flash (again out of view, just that the buildings lit up over the hill) then about five seconds later a T35B Bugatti came thundering into view. No lights, no mudguards, a bloke in goggles with his cap turned backwards driving and as the lights were green he blipped the throttle to change down and with a four foot long flame burst out of the side mounted exhaust (explaining the earlier flash, I assume!), he barely slowed for the junction and went tearing off out of view. About five or six more Bugattis came past (none so dramatic!) while we were sitting outside the pub and it turned out the owners club were having a rally in Newmarket.
One of the most unforgettable car moments of my life, I think!
I also had a little race with a T35 on the way back from Snetterton after a VSCC meeting. I was on my late 1920s Velocette KTT - he was faster

Skive? Moi?
No, my job allows me to do pretty much what I want. I work a two weeks on, three weeks off rotation in the offshore oil industry, so if I'm at home and the weather looks good, I'll just get on and ride for the day.
Sent you a text yesterday to see if you were busy tonight, weather looks good! No, my job allows me to do pretty much what I want. I work a two weeks on, three weeks off rotation in the offshore oil industry, so if I'm at home and the weather looks good, I'll just get on and ride for the day.
Also saw a Type-25 Bugatti on a trailer pass my house the other day, stunning car.

You'll get another mate, I felt the same when i wrote off my bike a few years back...and remember how much Mr OCD missed his R1 a short while ago, at the time these things feel irreplaceable...but there not, we get a new model(be it the bike or a girlfriend...) and the old one becomes history, a fond ( or not so fond!) memory.
At least your here to post the pics and tell the tale..
Indeed... I was absolutely gutted but thankfully those round me made me see sense and buy a new bike... I got a newer R1 which I'm really happy with ... the old one is just a fond memory but no longer missed. At least your here to post the pics and tell the tale..
