Getting mine tomorrow. White with coral red.

Although I like the understated looks I wouldn't mind just a bit of bling to liven the exterior up.

Anything available yet ?
Hope you've been enjoying it. Mine (white + coral too) comes in two days. Have a look for here for something to liven the outside up http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/accessories/perfo...
Got the black stripe on mine but there is some tasteful stuff too...

The new generation of RFT are miles ahead of previous attempts, especially now that the cars have been designed with these tyres in mind. My wife's 135 has them and they are pretty good, sure it would be better with sports tyres but then it couldn't be an every day car. With active suspension in comfort it is a very relaxing drive.

Out of interest, what makes you say that? I do 80 miles a day on AD08's in rain or shine (but admittedly do have winters for nov-apr)

I have non RFs and teh car is an everyday car, althiough it spends teh bulk of teh week in a London undergroudn garage. If I get a puncture teh tyre is almost always trashed and needs repalcing, as does a RF. So I cant see the benefit of RF

Spot on for me as well

"....Is it good looking? Twitter, Facebook and forum chat response suggests many think not. The rear wheel drive proportions mean it does look different from most hatchbacks - better, to our eyes. But the real bone of contention for most people seems to be the face – with its squinting, “Angry Birds” headlamp “eyes”. Overall though, the restrained look marks it out as something that’s a little more mature and sophisticated than the average hot hatch. "

Mine now 600 miles and ave fuel consumption down to 34mpg as I slowly head towards the 1200 mile running in period. Off to Le Mans Friday pm and completion of running in mileage which should save me from the attention of les flics this trip. Road test report bodes well.

BBB888 - will you bother adjusting your headlights for the LM trip?

I did a bit of a search on babybmw and came away more confused than when I started! My handbook says there's a lever in the wheelarch that can be used for adjusting the lights, but others seem to suggest there isn't.

I'll be off to France in a few weeks, so I'd like to know if there's something I can do. Don't fancy a trip to my local dealer to get them done though!

I wont be bothering with adjustment unless its easy, will probably just stick on some halfrauds stickers and peel em off when i get back. Will need my hi-vis jackets and breathalyser and warning triangle etc. Luckily got well stocked up in the family wagon earlier this year for a skiing trip so will have to just load the BM with that. hope it doesnt reduce my mpg any further. My teenage daughter thinks the car is butt ugly and only reluctantly gets in it, my 12 yr old son thinks its great and is particularly keen on 'paddle shift'. Meanwhiole I am religiousy running in although a friend advised 'just thrash it, you'll sell it in less than 3 years. And modern BM engines are built ready for full use from the start'. Are they?

Hopefully by the time they do a facelift (fingers crossed the lights get sorted) ill be in a position to pick one of these little beauties up, although a secondhand m3 will make one hell of a case for itself...

Gentlemen (and presumably Ladies) I am thinking very, very hard about a M135i after ditching a broken 911s last year. My main concern I suppose is that of getting rid of it again in three years and 50,000 miles time. It doesn't look like anyone is paying full price and what you see them up for on the second hand market includes £2-3k of dealer margin. Given this the depreciation is probably going to be about £15k (£32 down to £17) so long as someone will buy it. With a complicated bit of kit with a thirsty engine what is the collective view of its desirability (especially if fuel prices start to creep up again). Is £17k a reasonable pitch for 3 year old M135i with plenty of toys and a £37k list.

Get it on PCP and guarantee your future value if you're that concerned. There aren't many 300+ bhp cars that'll return over 40mpg on a run and 30mpg around town.

The M135i would also appear to be forecast as the 10th lowest depreciating new car right now.

Interesting article, hadn't seen that so thanks, helpful. It does make me laugh these though 55% left out of an 85k Porsche over three years means about £35 per day in just depreciation. Seems a lot. According to this though the M135i is going to hang on to £17k which is more or less what I thought.

The PCP option may be the way to go, it does protect your backside if things go horribly wrong just costs an extra three grand or so over three years.

I am not retentive about money by the way just like to know what I am getting into. This will be my first BMW.

i'm feeling the same, it would be my first BMW and by far the most expensive car i've ever had so i want to make sure that PCP is the right thing to do.

My PCP proposal was a £15,500 final payment on a £29,000 purchase price. They usually like to make the final payment a few grand less than the trade in though so you've got some deposit money for your next PCP purchase. Doesn't always work out like that though, and it occasionally makes better financial sense to walk away.

very true. i work for ford credit and 90% of the contracts we sell are PCP or 'options' deals. everybody at work has them because they get a few ks of equity per vehicle and just transfer it onto the next one. plus if you have a PCP agreement the dealers are always very keen to swap your cars regularly and give great deals if you do change over because they're generally desperate to meet their sales targets. i'm just hoping it's the same with BMW!

I have just pumped up the BMW web site to get a feel for what residuals they promote. On a £34k car the residual is just £14k (45k miles / 3 years) £515 per month with 6k up front. That makes a total payable of £38k if you buy it. If you don't make the final payment it will cost £24.5 and no car!! I do struggle to see the point of them. As a floor price if the bottom drops out of the market I suppose they provide a bit of re-assurance, but £24.5k and give the car back would be a big swallow.

The website figures are incorrect. On a 34 k car my cost was well below 30k I pay 400 a month for 3 years coming in at 14400. Cars depreciate regardless so effectively with bmws valuation I am merely paying off the depreciation plus a little extra for the privilege of a new car. I have a down payment of 4k and a consistent monthly outgoing and if at the end the car is worth a little more I will get the equity back. I also don't have to sell anything. The benefits are vast IMO and the 34k brand new car due to interest rates is more affordable on a monthly basis than a 18k golf gti. Quite how you calculated 24.5k and no car I don't know. Guessing you added depreciation.
