Wasn't it the Dreamcast version of Quake (3?) which let them join PC servers. Apparently joypad players get massacred in twitch games vs k/m

It was predominantly Dreamcast only servers, but the majority of Dreamcast players had mouse and keyboard anyway..

You've got to take into account all the board meetings, strategy changing, costing and fine tuning of the press release wording, so I think the time gap was as expected. But I think they may have alienated alot of Xbox fans in the process.

All it needs now is for Sony to lower it's price (or drop altogether) the charge it will be asking for online gaming access and the ball will be firmly back in MS's court.
