Stupid I know but today I am mildly annoyed by the fact I have to go to a meeting in London tomorrow and have just had an email informing me the dress code is "business casual"

What the fk is business casual? Stupid idea. I bet its an American invention.
Business casual for a gentleman is tie off.

Naff.

If you're wearing the collar it needs a tie.

Wear something that does not feature a visible lack of tie; polo, Hawaiian, T...

I'd remove my jacket and even waistcoat before my tie.

...not that I often don a tie. smile

If you're still living in the 50s maybe.

Tie off is fine.

Please let's not let this become one of those threads about fashion. They endlessly clog up the Lounge, please don't let it filter into here, tweed aside.

I like Sierra's, mainly cos I had one and could do skids and carry lots of people when my mates all drove Corsas and other fwd stuff.

But that one has been for sale almost as long as their Audi 100 and I don't think either were old enough to be considered 'classic' when the ads first went up.

I do wonder why my Grandad - god rest him - decided to get rid of his XR4i in favour of the Civic I'm currently running about in.

Now THAT would've been quite the first (or should that be thirst-y) car.

Like most big-engined cars they're not bad at all unless you're chugging through town.
The Autocar long_termer got 34ish mpg on long trips. They are quite light ( 1200kg ) and similar straight line performance to a new GT86 at legal speeds - even with the old Cologne engine which isn't that pokey

Mine felt massive, I wonder how big one is now compared to a mondeo or even a focus.

That looks lovely like Derin would spend 20 grand on it obsessively.

I agree.

The Sierra's from a time when people were happy to drive a Ford, eat fish and chips and drink local beer. It's now base spec derv Audis, neon lit curry houses and Belgian piss water.
