How much are these?
I can't remember exactly now but i think about 10p each including delivery. I only got 1000 so that's higher end of price range.
I got them from thirstys.co.uk and they were great to deal with and quick turnaround.

Thanks, I have thought about getting some made to hand out in the pubs around an exhibition we do.

Branded USB sticks of a decent size (4 or 8 Gig)...reusable, handy and in a PC driven era, essential. Supply with a key ring.

I'm in the business of promotional gifts, well the branding and Laser Engraving of gifts. It always amazes me the range in quality of items we get sent to engrave, from utter crap to really expensive items. One thing I notice is that personalised gifts (ie with your name on it) seem to get kept and maybe less of chance of getting pinched. Downside you need to know all the names of the people you are giving them to. A nice metal pen or USB stick would be my choice, cheap plastic pens just get lost, stolen like cheap biros, keyrings are ok but how many people will actually use them

You could argue that having promotional pens stolen (from the end user) is a benefit, gets the logo in front of more eyeballs.

I was given a nice pen recently, which has a Stylus at the other end - something like this:

I don't like Mugs, T-shirts or cheap pens but I do like highlighters and "postit" notes

Mugs mugs mugs, you won't beat a well designed simple 2/3 colour mug. I know this from experience. Look in any office coffee room/desks they are everywhere. The only other thing i believe works well is papaer products (post its etc) and pens. The pens need to write well and be black. Again simple bold 2/3 colour logos are best and cost less than full colour.

Just to add, most of the thread is full of ideas that costs several pounds per unit. 2gb+ usb sticks are expensive and not the kind of gift you produce in the masses for school teachers.

We give out coasters/mats with our information printed on them.

They are made from recycled tyres, kind of a link to what we do.

I've done mousemats, post its, pens, lighters & stress toys in my business. No question post its & pens are the most wanted.

I once took a bunch of lighters round a customers place back when people smoked. I handed them round until I got to the buttoned up graduate trainee. He refused, saying he didn't smoke. Alright then, take one for your BBQ - I live in a flat. OK, candles in the bath with the missus then. Fire hazard.

Well in that case, fk off you manual swallowing tit. He was gone in six months. smile

I have a suit cover from British Gas Eastern, a section of the company that dissolved in the mid 80s! I love it because it is a lightweight cover, not one of those big ones that weighs more than the clothes inside. Its great for a couple of shirts and a suit. I must have used it 100 times over the years. I don't have any other promo item from that period.

If teachers routinely use iPads, I don't know. An iPad case is a nice gift. Astonishingly cheap.

The gifts we have received the best feedback from so far have been the mugs. Most of the time when a mug is given out it has the name of your business all over it so we went for a different tact. Rather than having my company name on the mug it had THEIR company logo and the clients christian name on one side and a photo of their bus advert we do for them on the opposite side.

They have gone down an absolute storm the past two years but I am liking the iPad cover, may look at doing something similar with a picture of their bus and company logo for this Christmas (not convinced the name would work the same on this)

I'd love a freebie iPad cover, however, I'd be pretty cross if I didn't have an iPad. Make sure you target correctly!

The ones I use regularly are:

Mug
USB Stick
Document case
Pen knife
Torch

Have also got a stack of stress toys and rulers, but very rarely use them.

Do teachers use laser pointers?
That'd be useful or what about a thermos mug to keep the morning coffee warm walking from staffroom to lesson.

The best thing we ever did was get a load of umbrellas branded up. Clients really like them.
