Would this work with the M52TU engine...
To answer my own question, apparently not frown

Had a look on the Internet and it would seem I'd need the manifold from an M54 2.5 or 3.0 litre. Plus I couldn't help but notice people use the words "grinding down" in the same sentence as "throttle body" eek

Easier, cheaper and possibly better for your stress levels to trade up to a 530i I'd imagine.

2005 E46 320Ci manual. Purchased last week.
Love that shape!

I drove a 318i E46 as a "school car" (what do you Brits call it?) when I was learning to drive... Didn't pay much attention to the BMW's back then, but I faintly remembered that it was "nice to drive".
Forward a few years and I bought a 318i E30 Touring on impulse. Lovely handling car, just wish it had the 325i engine! And since then a year doesn't go by without me owning a BMW smile

I'm a BMW daily driver guy for the rest of my life, little doubt about that smile
I mean they're practical, comfy enough, great GT capabilities, got lovely engines, decent brakes, best handling in class (normally), new ones have amazing quality feel to them... What more do you want? I can totally see why they're everywhere these days and why you're smitten...

Quite pleased with it now. There's a few minor marks on the polycarbonate (I assume?) lens, is there anything I can polish that out with or should I leave it? You'd really have to be looking to spot it.
They are aftermarket headlights - perhaps hunt out a pair of genuine Hella ones from Ebay. I doubt they are expensive these days.

I know they're aftermarket, but Hella's still aren't particularly cheap and any on eBay might be in a worse state than the ones I have

Not mine (a dealer loaner) as my saloon is in to have a clicking seat repaired after only 900 miles rolleyes I've not really taken much notice of the touring before but I really like this and the boot is really useful, I even like the colour.

An M Sport touring in estoril would be nice wink

Just thought I'd share.

I remember seeing it last year on the way to Goodwood, and it actually being one of my favourite cars I saw that weekend- hope to see it there this year! thumbup

Back in the 90's I went in a 5.7 litre Alpina version and it was like a starship! Beautiful looking car.

Weren't they running one as a daily on Last of the Summer Wine? Top Gear?
