So do these bulbs (top link) fit all the interior lights (reading, door, footwell etc) and are they the same bulb for each? are they easy to fit on a V8V? Are they better than what is already present or are they just for longevity rather than brighter lights?
Changed the reading and footwell lights in my V8V. Reading lights fairly simple, but in the footwell it's hard to see what you're doing so have to do by feel and hope that nobody wandering past thinks you're trying to hotwire the car! Same bulb type for reading and footwell. I believe it's a different type (festoon) for the door so not done that one yet. Note it's possible to put the bulbs in the wrong way round so test it works before putting everything back together.

Looks blue as I didn't think to fiddle with the light settings on my camera but it's white really!

And are you happy you have changed to LED bulbs and would you recommend the idea to other users?

Yes and yes. It's just so much nicer than with the original bulbs. Such a cheap upgrade too, less than £10 if I remember correctly.

Well worth doing. Cheap and easy and the interior looks much nicer at night. The map lights are certainly more useful for actually reading things smile

Need to do the boot and puddle lamps next.

Just a quick one to say thanks for the info smile

Put my Bulbs in last night.

Not the best of pictures but well worth the 10mins it took.

I am sure this will be the cheapest modification I will do to the car.....

These are the items I used.

I went for some Red Rear Number plate lights to match the normal rear red light. It looks really good at night and I will make sure to get a picture tonight.

Did AML start using LED bulbs, for some of the interior lighting at some point?

The map lights in my MY09 V8V do appear silver, rather than yellow.

Yes I think they did on the later cars for some of the interior bulbs.

I had two of the LEDs from fleabay fail in the first week so I paid a bit more from here, (no affiliation)

I haven't done the number plate - not sure I want it more visible!
