Interesting - so MS is NOT going home, after all.http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/manager-denies-s...
That said, at some point Grenoble hospital will (however reluctantly) have to ask for its bed back. Not for a while yet, it would seem.

I think we may have to accept that until we get a press release saying that either he's died or he's finally woken up, then anything must be tretaed as speculation or possibly smoke and mirrors.

As for turning off the machines, its not as easy as that if they are breathing on their own as the only thing left is to stop food and water and starving someone to death is not considered acceptable either.
Yes it is, that's exactly what is done every day courtesy of the Liverpool Care Pathway and other approaches.VladD said:
To be honest we don't know that he's not going home or what the building at his home is really all about. It's possible that they don't want to let it be know that they're building a medical facility at his home. Maybe they're worried about "fans" holding a vigil outside the house until he recovers and they just want to be left in peace.
You could not blame them could you Some interesting (and some uninformed) remarks about skiing here.
I'm not a GREAT skiier, but I ski off-piste and have been heli-skiing in the past (and would do it again happily).
I LOVE skiing, honestly it's such an intense feeling that's hard to express the sheer joy I get from it.
There's a risk in everything you do (far more people die in bed than skiing...), but to not do the ones you love (or try the ones you might) because they're slightly riskier than going to the pub (probably not true, statistically) seems an absurd waste of life.
I took up Scuba diving a few years ago, another experience I really enjoy (It's not quite up there with skiing) which has risks, but, as with skiing you try and mitigate them and weigh the risks against the rewards. If you've never been skiing offpiste in waist deep powder, I'd suggest you're no more qualified to comment on the 'sense' of doing it than I am on the rationality of riding a superbike on UK roads.
I broke my knee skiing a few years ago. A lot of people said "I guess you'll stop skiing now", but my response was to get fit enough to ski again the following season. It was a risk, I made a mistake, I'll learn from it and hopefully be at less risk in future.

Stil so saddened
I can't help but think what might help him come around
Stupid though it may seem anything must be worth trying
Given he spent so much time with Ross Brawn talking to him pit to car I wonder if putting headphones on and playing him recordings of his Ross to Michael in car chats from each race might spark that inner Michael to come into the pits and back to us
Laugh if you may but who knows with the brain
That's not funny, I wouldn't laugh at you, anything is worth a try.I can't help but think what might help him come around

Both are about being in control of the situation , scuba even more so I'm not a GREAT skiier, but I ski off-piste and have been heli-skiing in the past (and would do it again happily).

I am at a loss here.
Where are we?
There were reports that he was off sedation, and that he was then put back on it.
There were reports that he was being examined, particularly for eye movement.
What is the situation?
Its been an awfully long time.
Grenoble Hospital are keeping a very tight lid on this, and nothing is coming out, that is enormously difficult to do the longer it all goes on.
I would prefer to hear something authorised and validated from the specialists, rather than some backdoor chequebook originated story from an employee, however the longer this is kept so tightly shut, the higher the figure that awaits that person.
Sick, but thats how the media seem to work.
Poor Corrina, and her children.
You wouldn't wish it on your worst enemy.

But winter sports just seem that something so serious can happen after such a small incident.
Yes and no.8< snip 8<
Seems to me the greatest likelihood of non life-threatening accident is to the inexperienced recreational skiers.
8<
Simple incident and non-life threatening injuries from a medical perspective which cause them a long recuperation, plus which for someone self employed, say, could have greater long term financial than medical consequences.
