I've tried, but they keep breaking free just as I move in. Dash it all.
Are you bearded? Maybe they dislike stubble burn...

I've been growing a beard for years, i let it get to a certain length and then shave it back with a stubble razor.

I don't like the shaved look, but i can grow a decent beard if i leave it. It just grows in ginger.. hehe

I had to shave mine as the wife hated it, I'd also gone 2 weeks without sex which was wholly unacceptable.

Sorted.

A beard is more of a winter thing for me. I work outdoors for several hours per day. Nowt to do with looks, just practicality and keeping warm.
Does it keep you warm though? We went to Norway a couple of years ago so in the 6-8 weeks before i grew a beard. Out on the sleds i found that moisture from my breath collected on my beard and while it didnt freeze, it was like having a wet flannel round my chops! On the plus side, one of the benefits of *not* shaving is not having fresh raw skin exposed to low temperatures.

I liked having a beard though, after i got through the infernal itching period. I didnt shave the neck area off though like some people do - i kept it as the lord intended. The only thing with mine is that my head hair (whats left of it) is brown, and the beard was a mixture of patches - brown, ginger, and a white chin. (The ginger is a hand-me-down from my Viking ancestors, by the way)

Oh, you want a picture?

I find those that criticise the way of the beard are those least able to produce one.

But..but.. how can that be? As another poster has attested - the girls love them.
I deduce you've never kissed a man with a beard.
There's a difference between stubble and a beard. A beard might tickle but it's not sharp or rough in any way!!

Quite.

One should of course be shampooing during the course of a standard hair wash too.

My Mrs loves my beard...

I just let mine get on with it. I trim it back when the badgers move in.

Yes, but I didn't want to give the anti-beards too much ammunition...

I work mostly nights of 6/7 day weeks. Start of week I don't shave, 2 days in I shave a goatee then don't shave again for the rest of the week. This keeps the facial hair resonably presentable (missus approves) and lowest maintenance. I get a 4 day weekend so shave at the end of the working week.

Is it me or does everybody between the ages of 25 and 40 seen to have this silly beard(not designer stubble) look going on do the guys think they look more manly or something ?.Bloody hell even Dale Winton has it going on I know its personal choice but I dont see the point but if its the fashion like combed over hair and jeans too short with no socks on look then my thoughts are it looks silly. What do others think I expect im in the minority and everyone else likes the look ?

Chris
I've been rocking the beard/comb-over/short jeans look for the last 30 years. This is the closest I've ever been to being "bang-on-trend" as the fashion mags would say, so let me enjoy it until the next thing comes along. Then I can go back to being a beardy-weirdy again...

To be properly trendy, best to have the beard sculpted into a small animal……….

Lots of talk here but no pictures, I shall buck the trend.

My wife likes my beard, she says it makes me look less aggressive, bless.

I think it makes me look like a 'cycle path'.
I liked you as Buzzsaw in The Running Man...but you haven't done much since.
