Why would anyone pick him after the last few years of his career? I mean, if he is like this in training I wouldn't pick him for the Sunday over 40’s eleven.

Is he a world beater in training, and just doesn't do it on the pitch, or what?

As long as Chelsea and Spain pick him, I'm happy.

was watching some Sky best of premiership yesterday whilst at the gym, was Torres playing for Liverpool. I cannot remember seeing a young player go from utter class to utterly inept in 2 years.

Sad really, if he wasn't playing for Chelsea

Missed another sitter for Spain tonight

Would love to see him come back to Liverpool for tuppence and turn great again

It'll never happen.

1) he's st.
2) Rodgers isn't thick enough to take him back.

He's just not a footballer. He has a good build so he'd be decent as a bricklayer or whatever but definitely not a footballer.

It's a mystery. Ten times worse than Shevchenko, Crespo etc who really didn't do too bad.

His confidence & desire is shot.

I still think he has the ability, it's the above two. He is mentally too weak.

He's lost a bit of pace, but outside of that, something has gone drastically wrong somewhere.

It's a shame.

This is spot on IMO.

I actually think he could get it back, but he'd need the right manager, and full 90minute games one after the other.

Still like him for some reason.

I'm not sure what he needs. He's worked through a number of different managers at Chelsea. The performances have followed the same pattern. Largely anonymous, then puts a couple of good performances in back to back, gets injured/sent off, then back to anonymity. I've seen him turn in a game even. In the Europa q/f a couple of years back for example. Anonymous. Gets a kick in the head, it stokes him up, he's like a man possessed, scores twice, has the confidence to take a penalty (Ok he missed it!)& you think he's back. The year before he scores that goal in the Nou Camp, next game he scores his only hat-trick for Chelsea. Again you think he's back.

I like the guy. I think he needs help but not of the football coaching type.

He'd have to resign for us for that to happen though wouldn't he?

I honestly don't know what confidence has to do with trapping a football, he can trap it as far as I can kick it. Anyone who has watched Torres regularly fall over himself or the ball week in week out will know that it's more than his confidence that's gone.

I really wanted him to succeed at Chelsea but he's been given more chances than any other player.

Funny how the same player can be one of the best buys of the EPL and also one of the worst...

£50m price tag & lack if stability at Chelsea

Best thing he could do is hope Suarez goes to RM and Liverpool but him back for much much less money. I actually think Liverpool would be best thing to happen to him (mojo back)

Certainly there is something wrong and its probably more than just losing confidence - you can get confidence back if you keep playing and your team/manager has faith - something which he has had.

It easy to forget just how good he was at Liverpool (and Atletico) due to the last few years. One of the best in the world when he was on - absolutely lethal. A shame for him as if he had carried on he would be considered a genuinely great player.
