The writing has been poor this year, but I enjoyed that one!

Don't tell some of the miserable b*st*rds earlier in the thread. They will think you are dreaming.

I liked it too.

I thought the script was good. They found a really effective way of weaving Santa Claus into a narrative without making it seem stupid.

A thumbs up from me and Mrs TS.

Well I enjoyed it, quite poignant aswell re Danny, I like him. Nick Frost was good. I tend to try not to over think Doctor Who, ruins it if you do. I like Capaldi though Tennant will remain my favourite (esp the Dr & Rose relationship). Looking forward to the next series.

It was a good concept, but it could have been done so much better.

The whole episode was a really good concept, but IMHO fell flat, because the writers insist on "on the nose" exposition to tell the audience what is going on instead of using the visual medium of television to show them.

The idea of dreams being inherently weird - so here's Santa - but that could be totally normal for an episode of Dr Who, so let's stop and tell you it is "weird" half way through the episode. And there wasn't really much else in the episode that ran with that basic concept of being "not quite right" as dreams tend to be.

You can't read in dreams, so lets grind to a halt and tell you that, rather than having something subtle, like everyone reading the same sign on a door, or a clock, or a name badge differently - could have doubled that up and used that to show that something was wrong instead of the clumsy "it's a long story" line.

There is a lot to like, and i'd like to enjoy it more, but the writing means that giving it attention is an unrewarding experience, and there's nothing for me to get stuck into. A few bits of good performance, a few good lines here and there and some good bits of production aren't enough.
Maybe Hamlet might be a better choice

That's a bit too subtle, are you sure you don't want to have a lot more exposition explicitly explaining how stupid I am and how you're going to defeat my evil, unwanted presence in your thread with insults, and probably by waving a sonic screwdriver in my direction?
I think your lack of humour is pretty showing off your stupidity all on its own

Says who?
I'm fairly sure I can/have.
I can fly, too. And make love to wide variety of people without upsetting SWMBO.
Reading's easy after that lot.

You can read in dreams. I had one the other night and remember reading a specials board in a restaurant.

Yes you can read in dreams, or at least you're dreaming that you're reading.

Ooh! Zygons!

(still preferring the repeats of real Dr. Who on the Horror channel though)

Tsk. Dalek. They should make them rarer, not every season.
