Why are they banned?
They apparently cause damage to greens due to the layout of the spikes. I've personally not seen this damage and I've played with endless amounts of people wearing them.Soft greens always show spike marks in winter/after heavy rain. It comes down to the course and wether or not they believe these shoes are indeed inflicting damage or not.

They are the non tour versions. I think they have pulled the tours from the online store.http://www.sportsdirect.com/adidas-adizero-six-spi...

Best to go into a store, although be quick. Stocks are very limited.
I wondered about the £12.99 shoe. Have ordered the £28.00 ones as it's still a great deal. Will pop in store tomorrow evening just in case.
On other news, buffer zone today (81 gross, 34 points stableford) with 2 blobs (one an OOB at the 4th) and a not inconsiderable 40 putts ........... Still plenty there to be happy with but what should have been........

I'm heading to the range tomorrow ahead of a quick 18 on Saturday (if the course is open).
Since my last round I have acquired a lot of new kit which I can't wait to have a go on (everything in bold is new to me):
Titleist 910 D2 driver 10.5 degree
Titleist 910f 3-Wood 15 degree
Titleist 910h Hybrid 21 degree
Mizuno MP-52 3-PW
Mizuno MP-R12 Wedges (52, 56, 60)
Odyssey Versa 330m WBW putter
Nike Lunar Waverly shoes
As you can see I've been a busy boy on the new gear front and almost half my bag is new to me (only the wedges, putter and shoes are brand new). I can't wait to try out all the new kit and, although I am not expecting it to transform my game, I now know that the only person to blame for poor performance is me.
I'm also hoping to re-start lessons around early Feb ready to tear up the courses in the spring.

Had my first game in around 4 months over Christmas - a week's holiday in Scotland with the missus and the clubs in the boot culminated in a round on the Old Lady herself, the Old Course at St Andrews. It was £80 a round, which did smart slightly, but as I was a student there and used to get it for £70 a year, I didn't complain too much.
Being winter thankfully most of the bunkers were GUR (especially Hell Bunker, took me 7 to get out of that last time I played it...), however I also played in the kind of weather only St Andrews can provide - Sunny, yet raining, and you had to stand at an angle to avoid being blown over.
Still a fantastic experience and if you haven't played there I would definitely get it added to the bucket list - not the hardest course in the world, but the sense of history is epic - depsite having played it more often than I can remember, I still get goosebumps on the 1st and 18th tees.
Oh and despite the weather and lack of practice I somehow went round in 83, with my last dropped shot on the par 3 11th (always hated that hole). Pretty sure it was the first time I'd ever achieved par on 17 too.

Great score, and a par at the road hole is some feat alone.Being winter thankfully most of the bunkers were GUR (especially Hell Bunker, took me 7 to get out of that last time I played it...), however I also played in the kind of weather only St Andrews can provide - Sunny, yet raining, and you had to stand at an angle to avoid being blown over.
