Rwd and manual only, standard or very slightly improved, but mechanically only. No cosmetic mods.
For my daily driver, this ^^^, but I also have a love of sports-bikes and also track weapons such as the Mclaren MP4/4 and Porsche 962 or in fact anything with rose jointed, fully adjustable suspension.

I'm a bit of a tart when it comes to cars. I like everything.

I can be quite happy honing a b-road in a rally rep, cruising in a V8 gt or bobbing along the road in a tractor. I just like all things with 4 wheels and an engine.

I like most things with an engine, regardless of the wheels.

I like boats, there's something about them that makes me want to have a go.
I like Motorbikes, it's the thought of being able to fly through traffic and be able to monster most road cars.
I like almost all cars. Hot Hatches, Barges, GT cars, fast saloons/estates, roadsters, sports cars (IMO a 911 is a sports car)
I don't like dubbed/chavvy boddykitted/anything with a TDI badge type cars.

If only I didn't need a boot for work frown Then it would be GT86/370z cloud9
I can still drive a car with a little pulse though, a 335i/S4.

I think I'm a bit of an all-rounder.

I have a BMW 330D MSport Touring Auto because I like big diesels and the effortless punch it gives me at low revs combined with comfort and convenience.

I have a Honda S2000 because I like screaming the engine up to 9000rpm amongst other things.

I have an aeroscreened Caterham Hayabusa because I like its tactile and extreme nature, and the adrenalin rush that motor sport provides.

I really fancy a Land Rover Defender at some point but maybe I should be satisfied for the moment.

First and foremost I like engines, particularly the noise they make.

So anything with an interesting engine note holds an appeal to me of sorts.

I say 'of sorts' because take for example the Focus RS. 5 cylinder, so should qualify, but I don't particularly want one. Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo though? Yes. Equally say a 350z, it's got a V6, but meh, whereas an Alfa V6? Oooohhh yes. It's not an Italian car thing either, I'd like an 850R as well in my 5 cylinder garage...

As far as a favourite sort, big engine, manual, RWD, ideally not full of suspension modes, throttle map settings and traction control options.

Thinks I don't like? I find 'jack-of-all-trades' cars that are extremely capable in every way a bit dull.

Basically, I'm a pseudo-masculine idiot with (presumably) intentionally contrary opinions thumbupbiglaugh

I love japanese hatch-backs...honda civics, mitsubihi colts, suzuki swifts, that sort of thing. I dont know why I do, but I do. I also like big stonking natrully aspirated V8's, and I like japanese high-performance cars (skylines, NSX's). I also love motorbikes.

Muscle cars. Most definitely these as my '71 4-speed Mach 1 and W210 E55 attest to.

Land Rovers. Yes, these as well as my Series III, 110 and Range Rover prove.

Definitely a love of V8's, but there's love also for old-school, old-tech diesel donks such as the 300Tdi in my 110 and the 2.9 5-cylinder in my Mercedes 410d motorhome. The latter are low-rev, high-torque plodders and rather appealing in their own way.

There'a also a love of estate cars.

Not really into the heavily modified scene and can be a bit of a purist with the older stuff we own.

Manual or auto. It depends. No strict preference either way, but the installation has to complement the machine and not work against it.

Italian, French, American, British, Australian, etcetera. Not fussed, although far stronger desires exist for British, American and Australian cars than any other.

The modern stuff generally leaves me nonplussed and that leaves an increasing desire and interest in the older offerings, say up to the early 90's. 60's and 70's stuff is of particular interest.

I thought a petrolhead was just that.

I love cars, bikes. Love motorsport from F1, touring cars, Endurance racing (been to Le mans 24 hour 5 times in the past 10 years). BSB, Moto GP, World super bikes, Rallying, drifting, Indy car etc...

Only thing I am not a fan of scooters or chavv'ed up cars. though. By this I get no fun seeing scooters or Corsa's with huge stereo systems and cherry bomb exhausts

if you have something different from a V8 or classic car to a motorbike I love seeing them on the road

I'm just a weird car addict. I may have just got one I've chased for ages, but always I'm thinking about the next one.

I can't buy normal stuff. I have tried. I just couldn't go through with it. In my 20s I tried to be a responsible yuppie and buy a new Audi TT. I specced the car down to the last details and paid a deposit and pretended to myself I was excited, but when I came to sign on the line I couldn't do it, walked out of the dealership thouroughly relieved and bought a bright red second hand Maserati the next day.

That's set my pattern for life. More cylinders, mechanical complexity, limited numbers or simply something unique about specific car draws me like a moth to a flame.

I shall never be cured, and I don't care. I love the ones everyone will tell you are trouble...

I've had my licence 5years and I've had 20+ cars in that time, highlights include BMW 323 coupe, Renault Clio 197 but the ones that have really got under my skin are little Fiats rolleyes

I've just sold my 2.2 omega barge for a Cinquecento Sporting.
It never fails to make me grin and it's so ludicrously cheap to run I don't have to worry about it blowing up like I did with the Renault, the BMW, the Saab etc etc.. Guess that makes me a poor Ph'er laugh

I love cars and driving. I deliver pizzas in the evening so I can drive and get payed for it!?

I'd like to think I have a fairly eclectic taste in cars. I've owned plenty of fast German saloons and Japanese cars (Impreza, Evo, RX-7 and Pulsar), but would also love something like a Monaro, Camaro or Mustang. If I had £35k to spend on a car, I'd have trouble deciding between ordering a new V8 Mustang or buying a second hand R35 GTR. I've also built a couple of track cars in the past and would like to do another, space permitting.

Old Japanese - by 'old' I mean 90's, Skyline / Supra's / S14-15's / GT4 Celica .... Anything like this always turns my head, much more than some fool in his brand new leased A3 / Merc boring dull diesel with max MPG's ...

Older Merc barges / VW's (Splitty / Karman Ghia's)

Anything quirky / a middle finger to the mainstream - ie the Lister Jag

Aston Martin's old and new.

My garage once we are back from my oversea's assignment;
Spltty
V8V
R32 GTR (Stock-ish)
Of course if I can get the buy off to have two toy cars!

Some sort of estate, probably a skoda.

I don't really care too much about the latest newest shiniest thing, but some of them are nice to look at. Maybe I'd be more interested in them if I had that sort of money to throw at them, but its not a high priority.

Mostly I just like driving around corners, especially if they're covered with gravel and I'm going sideways (hence the user name). Fortunately there is plenty of that available where I live. I'd go rallying properly if it wasn't such an expensive hobby, instead I just have some fun within reason on the road, and do a few track days. Still go to rallies as a spectator/photographer though.

I generally find relatively light, playful Rwd cars (like MX5s) the most fun, but I also like Subarus and find them a good combination of fun, practicality and rough terrain/bad weather capability. Yet to drive a Fwd car that I don't get bored with fairly quickly, driving around their shortcomings has brief novelty value but it doesn't last long. Also have in interest in driving dynamics etc from a physics point of view.

I like them to have four wheels (or sometimes three), an engine, and a steering wheel. Everything else matters not.

I've enjoyed everything from bike-engined three-wheeled Grinnal Scorpions, 50 year old Beetles with 35bhp, classics like the Stag and Jensen, barges like my old XJ8, hot hatches like the MINIs and my current Golf...

...I pretty much like everything.

Regarding cars I prefer simplicity and a more back to basics approach, random example but I'd take a Ferrari 360CS over a 458 Speciale without a second thought. To me, enjoyment factor overrules lap times or aesthetics, I'm a firm believer in function over form. Clio 172 Cup, MX-5, E36 M3 Evo, Ferrari 360, Jaguar XJ220, Zonda F are some of my all time favourites.

Pushrod V8s seem to do strange things to me too.. power delivery, noise, massive potential, they're just brutes. The want for a Vauxhall Monaro in the coming years is very strong!

Also hard track driving doesn't really appeal to me, I'd much prefer a well set up enjoyable car, in nice weather, on a decent stretch of British A-road thumbup

I prefer revs to torque
Prefer lightness to luxury
Love a good handling FWD
Prefer natural aspiration to forced induction
Prefer Japanese to Euro

I think I own the wrong car.....996 turbo....although I do love it and don't think I will sell any time soon.

Would love another k20 swapped DC2 though, or maybe EK9, or maybe a mint fresh import EF9.

If I had the money and could get on the list I'd have a Cayman GT4, and if I had a bit more money and again could get on the list I'd have the new NSX

Always fancied an Atom too, in fact that's what I'd have got when I got the 996 but I'd just had a baby and didn't have a garage at the time
