Exactly, go mental and spec something like kermit green or that even more lurid almost kawasaki green seen on some 70's 911s if they can do it. I suspect though many of them will be white. My favourite would be the solid blue seen on some of the shots floating around on the net, looks a bit lighter than Maritime (my all time favourite Porsche colour) but nothing like as light as Riviera.
Bold colours for sure on a car like this (says the man with a bright yellow car!). I think Porsche Peppermint Green or Porsche Riviera Blue would look fantastic on this GT4.Wills2 said:
Interesting in the evo video that he states the car has a minimum of 385hp at 10,000ft and 40c etc. whilst smiling..I think they are sandbagging this cars power output more than usual.
4.4 to 62 from a RWD manual with no launch control eludes to more ponies than quoted in my opinion, what a cracking car.
Aston V8 Vantage which is c 200kg heavier and much more old fashioned, has no launch control and only a little more power but that has 420bhp and does 0-60 in c 4.7 secs. So 4.4 for the Porsche is certainly doable with 385bhp but I agree I am sure the specs are all a touch conservative, including the 0-60, simply to ensure performance figures are not seen to be too close to some of the 991 derivatives. And because Porsche are (almost) always conservative with the figures4.4 to 62 from a RWD manual with no launch control eludes to more ponies than quoted in my opinion, what a cracking car.

My manual 987 Boxster is quoted as 4.5 to 62 with 374 bhp, for reference.4.4 to 62 from a RWD manual with no launch control eludes to more ponies than quoted in my opinion, what a cracking car.

Mate, maybe some people just have a hell of a lot more money than you and want the Catman GT4??
I know people with a lot more money than me. They'd buy the GT3 (Or the Turbo S because they want to use it every day). The only reason they'd buy this is because they'd expect it to be an asset but if it didn't gain 5% per year, their money would be better of elsewhere (Of which they'd know). GT Porsches are tulips at the moment!
This is a poser car. Hardcore drivers' won't buy it.
How can I tell? Look at the posts previous. All of them refer to the look, the colour, the options, the resale value, how awesome does that rear wing look (but no mention about the downforce it provides). Nout on steering feel, tramlining, engine response, even noise has been missed! Only a couple of posts about the gearbox (Manual and long gearing).
I am very, very tempted.

So you know exactly who's going to buy this car based on a few posts on PH?How can I tell? Look at the posts previous. I'm going to guess that you decided long before those posts and have simply cherry picked some comments to enable you to justify your opinion.
The fact is you don't know anything of the sort.
Ok, I'm firmly rooted in the 'pre-89, 964' camp when it comes to Porsches I'd like to own, but this is the only current model I would lay out my own hard-earned for, and that sums it up for me; a model that is desirable, not too expensive (okay, that's relative) and doesn't overawe the driver with its power to achieve 'the' driving experience.
Reminds me of how Porsche got it so right with the 911 and 968 CS models

Can we all pretend we don't like it and it isn't very good with the faint hope it will devalue like a stone in the first couple of years to around £25-30k and used buy of the century please?
Good idea, I think it sucks, people shouldn't buy them. It'll age terribly, that spoiler is ridiculous, those wheels are too big, manual only? Blegh... Probably has fake noise piped in. Too heavy, too big, sports cars aren't sports cars anymore. And now we play the waiting game.

I was instructed to look at the GT4 by a friend and I couldn't believe my eyes, from the front it is absolutely beautiful 10/10. The rear isn't quite as pretty (looks a tad fussy where the boot lip and wing meet) but that is just nit picking, overall the car is beautiful.
I've always had a soft spot for the Cayman but this one is perfect, it is even priced very well IMO (But I have just come from the F-Type thread
)
I'm sure this is just an echo from other comments but

The new Cayman GT4 is the long-awaited step beyond the boundary. The step over to the other side of the frontier – onto the racetrack. It’s our tribute to all the motorsport enthusiasts and performance motivators. To all those who really do mean business. To all the victories of tomorrow, to all the personal bests still to be achieved.
