Considering he wasn't even involved in the incident, Lorenzo is coming out of this as the biggest cock going.
Yep, when he could have quite easily said he didn't see the crash, wasn't involved in any games, and all his focus remains on the championship.A perfect opportunity to win some PR points for himself
Epic fail

I read that Hodgson apologised about suggesting he was any where near the Race Direction office - is that true? So, likely a lot of false attacks from here, which have just been overlooked and transferred to the press conference.
Operation Shift-Focus for Rossi's PR is in full swing. His subjects flock to the cause. Uccio remains sore
From Mat Oxley on twitter -
Here's Race Direction on the Lorenzo yellow flag incident
There is no infringement of the yellow flag with Lorenzo’s pass on Rossi. It took a long time for us to find the video clip because there was no marshal report (because there was no infringement).
Now I have the CCTV video, it shows Lorenzo passing Valentino into Turn 1 with no yellow flags. After the pass is completed a rider behind them makes a mistake on braking and runs wide into Turn 1, the marshal lifts the yellow flag and when he sees that the rider does not go into the gravel or crash he drops the flag again.
The still photo we have all seen shows the flag just as it has been raised, both JL and VR are past the flag point and it definitely was not displayed when the pass was made. The flag was up for about 3 seconds only, the marshal was a bit too keen and raised it because it looked like a crash might happen, only to drop it when the rider recovered on track.
Incidentally, the same flag was raised 10 seconds later when Baz crashed, but by then all the lead riders were well past this point.

Rossi and Marquez are ( were) the good guys, Lorenzo is the heel the bad guy who everyone boo's, that is his role and it plays it to a tee.
I f people are going to boo you , you might as well play along with it and wind them up a bit more.

You need to look at this as if it's a pantomine or wrestling.

It's an unedifying spectacle, made far more pertinent because the general standard of competition is so honourable.
I’m not sure how I feel really. I do like Rossi, but wouldn’t claim to be a fanboy.
He was foolish in what he did, but if they are going to use the rule book to punish him, then he has every right to use the same rule book to appeal.
Personally I think he should take the punishment dished out and use the remaining time to focus on the job in hand
The last thing the fans want is for future championships decided by governing bodies arguing the toss.

I really think Race Direction dropped a b*llock by not giving Rossi a ride-through at the time. They had 30 minutes to review all the footage - all this "we wanted to talk to the riders" rubbish doesn't wash. The dithering and resulting grid penalty has effectively decided the Championship instead of the on-track action that the fans all wanted to see.
What will be interesting is if the penalty is suspended for Valencia (which it would most likely have to be) and if Rossi qualifies near the front, making Lorenzo go all out to keep ahead of Rossi and he then crashes out, only for Rossi's appeal to be later rejected by CAS.

I can't see a decision being overturned post race. They will have a decision one way or the other on the 6th, the Friday. This means they will go into Qually and the race knowing where they standI hope it stays as it is otherwise it just makes a mockery of the whole thing
