Not in bad nick for 20 year old car with 215k miles on it wink No, it's not like new, but I like something that has been taken care of and has been used as intended.

miles wink in metric the odometer reads 344'793 km as of today.

On it's second engine and the hood has been repainted, but it's on it's first seats, first steering wheel, etc...

That's lovely. I've spotted a gen 1 car near me which looks great, but I'm scared of the potential bork factor.

I thought the same and bought an E46 M3 - cost me over £5k in 12 months, then bought an E92 M3 spent a similar amount in 12 months. Then bought a 911. Old cars, open wallets...

MoT next Monday and ready for the summer! This long winter feels like it’s just dragged, a little behind the curve getting ready for the sun we just had, but nice to be out!

Those seats are looking very well cared for, which is not common to see on 997's. Many of the ones I see are quite crumpled up. With this in mind I've always been careful on in/e-gress and mine look like yours. Mind you, only 87k miles on mine...

I think the biggest factor why my 997 is in good nick, especially so for the mileage, is how it used. Not only by me, but also by the owner before (I'm just the 3rd owner from new).

We both used the car mainly for long distances. This is not only good for the engine -because it has done way less heat cycles- but also for the seats.
Dragging your bum in and out of the seat is what wears the seat bolsters. Merely sitting there for a 2 hour stint mainly compresses the bottom bolster, which you can clearly see on mine. I might buy a new foam pad from Porsche and get it fitted.

Also the car sleeps in a garage (and has been with the previous owners as well) and thus is not subject to UV light and temperature fluctuations.
This coupled with a leather conditioner from time to time and not being a powerfully built company director (and neither has the former owner been one) equates in an interior that looks much younger.

Also look at the key hole surrounding for instance. I bet you there are many 60k miles car that has been started (and this climbed into and gotten out of) more often than mine with 3x the miles.

That looks on great condition, in particular considering the miles.

Would you mind sharing which detailer you used and whether you were happy with value for money?

Interesting spec on that -

Fancy seats but with no heating

Sunroof but no rear wiper

I cant remember what was standard and what was not. Pretty sure it was just zenons and PASM standard over the 3.6 base model. So the rest has been chosen -

Multi function wheel
Nav module for PCM - if it had it - standard was just the screen
I see no Bose
No little clock for Sport Chrono - so no sport button below the AC
Aero kit obviously

I found sport mode the same. It just made the accelerator pedal too snappy for Me.
