300 odd got tickets issued. Maybe some will be overruled, maybe they won't, but the number issued has been confirmed by the police, therefore I put it to you that the figure exists.
It consider the reactions to that information.80% of people said something similar to 'What a stupid waste of time and effort. Why not just let the police use the lanes. The council are being tts.'
20% if people said 'The police are abusing thier power. They are bds.'

When asked how many had actually been substantiated you quoted the reports figure of 300....Want a ladder to help you out of your hole?

What you originally claimed was that about 300 officers had broken the rules as they had been issued tickets and the fact that they hadn't challenged the tickets was because they knew they'd loose, which in turn meant they were guilty of the offences. As has been pointed since, the article you are basing this on makes no mention of how many of the tickets have been paid, how many have been contested and how many of these appeals have been upheld etc.
So that leaves open the question as to why you interpreted the article as you did:-
1) You lack the ability to read and comprehend the article and genuinely misunderstood what it said.
2) You cynically chose to misrepresent the article in order to try and score points.
3) You understood the article but your bias and prejudice caused you to misinterpret what it actually said.

Tell you what- let's come back in a month or so when figures are known & we can see.As has been pointed since, the article you are basing this on makes no mention of how many of the tickets have been paid, how many have been contested and how many of these appeals have been upheld etc.
I don't know why you bother. I don't think there is any thread involving Police (regardless of the subject) that either Rovingtroll or his friend Cariniaman don't infect with their prejudice, hypocrisy and nonsense. Just put them on a virtual ignore list and let them talk to themselves.

I can take it or leave it, I just pop by for a bit of sport now and then, today was particularly easy.Elroy Blue said:

Normally I do just that. But it's been a slow day today. My 2p's worth is that we are meant to have 'Policing by Concensus'.
Part of that is surely that the 'Public' perceive the Police to be acting fairly and responsibly as citizens themselves.
In my neck of the woods is is shocking how many Police vehicles are missing lights (even day after day, so it's not just 'bad luck, it's just happened').
Also, some officers are so important that they stop in the taxi pick up area at the supermarket, even though 10 yards away there are plenty of empty spaces, and it's not that they are on call, because the nick is 200yds away and they are invariably heading back there.
Throw in the number who fail to indicate and it all erodes the 'we're all in this together' message.

.
So, run this by me again....they can't possibly be on a call, because they are only 200 yards from the nick?.

Finding a negative view from a member of the Public hard to accept are we?

So you followed them to the donught "aisle" then?
There used to be hell to pay if the Custody ( ahem) Sgt didn't get his doughnuts for his 0400 tea, hot from the bakery. That and the first edition of the Western Daily Press hot off the press from the back door of the printers.
Things were a lot easier in the old days.
I suspect it would be called bullying now, or corruption or something.

Much as I think the police have a PR problem, and much as I despise authority, I think BIB should be allowed to travel in bus lanes when in police vehicles and on duty. I'd rather them be as efficient as they can, and sitting waiting in traffic is not good use of scant resources.
I would have thought any sensible person would agree with you.XCP said:

I hate to fuel the stereotype held by those such as the learned gentleman above, but I am extremely partial to the bloody things!Things were a lot easier in the old days.
