Problem with local council
Discussion
As a way of causing grief to those who placed it there do you have a lot of contacts in your area? If so, you could get different individuals to ring every, or every other day, saying there are small children on top of the container and they are very worried someone's going to get hurt by falling off. I'm pretty sure someone would have to respond, hopefully they would get fed up after a couple of weeks and may look to relocate it.
A Royal Navy PTI was killed by a container in the Falklands. He was having a slash against the side of one and along with the wind and a Chanook helicopter landing it blew over on top of him

Because Chinooks are a common sight in British suburbia.A Royal Navy PTI was killed by a container in the Falklands. He was having a slash against the side of one and along with the wind and a Chanook helicopter landing it blew over on top of him
I'd imagine that that area is defined as 'Public open space' as defined in the Open Spaces Act 1906 and as such isn't covered by normal permitted development rules and should require change of use planning permission to erect any 'buildings' or remove any part of the open space from free public access. I think your Parish Council may have got this wrong and it might be worth while pursuing this further.

I have had the county council planning office involved unfotunately its within the rules according to them.Buy cheapest sttest looking van with a years MOT you can. Tax it.
Badly spray paint in luminous pink paint & on the side "This van stays here until the container is moved from my house".
Park on street in most irritating place you can for the council. (Find council leader park outside his house)
Worst case you get press attention to highlight the council being dicks.
Cost you a couple of K though.

What a fking mess. Only a st for brains council employee could think that's a good idea. I have every sympathy with you and I'd be chasing a reduction in CT and compensation for devaluing your property.

But parish council funding is part of your council tax. Whether you agree with him or not, there is consistency between his proposal and who is to blame.
It's not a case of agreeing or disagreeing, he is quite simply wrong. Where the money comes from is totally irrelevant. Parish Councils (like town and community) are made up of elected individuals and, possibly, co-opted members from the local community, there is no direct connection with the Local Authority and they act completely independently.

Hi
Yes but I am not sure about posting pics of where I live on the internet.
People would only be able to find out where you live if you take the pic with a gps enabled camera, like an iPhone 4S and you don't strip the metadata before posting the pic.Yes but I am not sure about posting pics of where I live on the internet.
I think you've said that you've contacted the LPA and they've stated that it doesn't require planning consent. I'm not a planner but I would raise the following;
I think that the formation of a (permeable or semi permeable) hard standing would only fall under PD rights if it was in connection with an existing development or use.
Under recent planning legislation changes, new areas of impermeable hard standings now require planning consent. The container is sited on concrete which should have required consent on this basis and assuming it was put there for the container by the Parish Council recently.

Bloke across the road hired one of those for temporary storage behind his fence that ran alongside the footpath.
About a foot of it was visible above the fence.
A resident complained and Sheffield City Council planning department made him get rid of it.
So, why can the OP's council deem that one to be legal?
I'm surprised other nearby residents haven't complained, it looks bloody awful.

It's never that simple.About a foot of it was visible above the fence.

I'd find a couple of local scrotes in a nearby pub and tell them about the £1000s of pounds worth of equipment just left there in a flimsy container. Maybe express your surprise that nobody has emptied it of it's contents yet.
I'm sure even if they don't have the balls to do it themselves they will know someone who does.

Taking this thought to it's logical conclusion... The scrotes will be highly unlikely to take the container, only the contents, which will be covered by insurance. The OP's Council tax will go up because the cost of the Parish council's asset insurance has gone up. Container will still be there.I'm sure even if they don't have the balls to do it themselves they will know someone who does.
OP's Post code will be blighted as a crime hotspot.
OP's house insurance will go up. Op's Car insurance will go up.
Congrats, you've funded a drug adicts habit and achieved nothing else.
Well done.

I assume, they're quite secure. Some are even used to store heavy plant machinery...I'm sure even if they don't have the balls to do it themselves they will know someone who does.
