Parking Ticket! But Bike Bay Had A Skip In It...!!
Discussion
Thanks.
Back to the original post, you have my sympathy, I would have done exactly the same thing and my logic would have brought me to exactly the same conclusion as you. However having lived in Oxford for a number of years played the a similar game with residents parking spaces, I expect you will have a hard time getting let off.
Good luck though!
And I will have a PHAT weekend!![](http://www.pistonheads.com/include/images/biggrin.gif)

My initial response simply pointed out an analogous situation. You broke the rules, accept it. Then you had the front to accuse me of not being bright.
I wholeheartedly support the idea of people posting genuine legal conundrums but this is so cut and dried, I'm surprised you couldn't see it.
Tomorrow: Jobson parks on yellow line and gets ticket, asks why on internet forum...

Parking on the pavement may have been a better bet. As I understand it you can't be ticketed for obstruction unless a warden actually see's a person being obstructed. Bib have their own rules on this so will ticket you regardless, if they have any tickets?
Boosted.
I see a lot of bikes on the pavement with a plastic bag tied over the numberplate.
Someone said this prevents a ticket being issued as the wardens aren't allowed to tamper with a vehicle - is this correct ?

If that is true, what would stop car drivers also covering their plates when parked up?
I can't see why it would only apply to bikes.
