Errors on these units occur most commonly when they are handeld & the wobble causes a sweep, or if its a van mounted unit the atual sweeping across up or down to aquire a target.

If anyone would like to see how much wobble there is from a 1-3kg device handheld might I suggest to get a similar object (eg a heavy torch) attach a laser cheap pointer & go out at night with the torch off & see how much the pointer moves at various distances. Its quite alarming especially if someone is a heavy drinker hehe

Hence if one was stopped by the side of the road I'd ask to be shown how the device was held & note what distance the target was aquired. Over the arm is good (better) single handed is very very poor & I would happilly use the above scenario to show in a court if need be how much potential sweep could be caused. Note the LTI is very prone to sweep error, the Prolaser's much less so (misreads that is)

The above device in that picture was frankly attrocious, it would get a speed reading when aimed stationary at that car in that picture of + 0r - 5-6mph at 150m when held with one hand yikes

I don't know if it is spin or lies, but have heard stories of the police turning up at people's homes to a) check you have a garage and b) that your 'garage opener' does indeed open the garage door.

Would imagine this only happens if you keep annoying the same copper on the same road - if it does happen at all.

There are quite a few tests of jammers on youtube. They do work, it seems. ( Otherwise unlikely they would be banned! )

Do any other posters have first-hand experience of this radar jamming unit ?

Have only managed to find a couple of reviews so far and they rate it very highly.

Having been accused(incorrectly)of doing 97 miles an hour in a 70 limit and having had to pay for a defense (which was successful, no points or fine gladly!), I don't want to run the risk of one of these inaccurate mobile speed traps again - the radar guns are so inaccurate it should be illegal !

I'm happy to pay £250 / £300 to prevent this sort of drama again so would appreciate any further information on either this unit or any other similar ones.

I'd rather protect my 8 years of having no points whatsoever and not having to pay insurance premiums for aberations on my license.

Thanks guys.
As has been pointed out it's not a radar jammer it's a laser jammer. Radar jammers are highly illegal and will get you into a world of trouble.

For that kind of money I doubt that the Microfuzion is going to give you great jamming performance and once they start bragging about "jams all guns" you can pretty much just blow them off.

These are the two best sites that I know of for Radar Detector and Laser Jammer information.

OK they're still just a bunch of geeks on the internet but you can learn a lot there.

I've used Blinder M20 and Antilaser AL G8 jammers and to be honest I have no idea whether they work or not rolleyes

I have a pair of the original Snooper SLD-920's and they saved my bacon on more than one occasion. I believe the newer ones are much easier to install and a little less prone to damage from water ingress and such. My first SLD's were DOA, second lasted about 9 months then died. Third pair worked for a year or so, but then I sold the car and there was nowhere to put them on my then new car. As a result they have been languishing in my garage for about 5 years now.

the micro fusion device is cig lighter powered and has two heads - one front and one for rear protection

i was wondering if the device would still be effective if the sensing heads were mounted inside the car, pointing out from behind the windscreen and the rear screen. this would make it easy to transfer between cars.

check this vid out with a blinder jammer in operation ( around the 2 minute mark is were the test is)

They aim at your license plate, so they would be at the wrong height.
