OK I guess you guys all want an update? Well I suspect one of the residents deflated my offside front tire to circa 19 bar so i had to attend the Sainsbury gas station to inflate it back to the recommended maximum of 50 bar with free air. Quite disappointed with this desu but at least they didn't key my shed or slash the tires.

For the record I will not be constructing any more skyscrapers as the money's not worth my troubles. Don't bother with civil engineering kids.
50 bar is 725 lbs/sq.in. yikes

Do I get a cigar? Or a parrot?

Tires? Gas station? Do you live in one of our colonies?

Desu?

Even 50 psi is high for a road car. Check your handbook or look for a sticker inside one of the door jams.

My motor's got very low profile tires. I inflate them as recommended on the tire wall.

Isn't that just the max allowable pressure you're reading? Inflate them to the car manufacturer's recommendation. Or 50 bar, your call.

Yes it's the max allowable pressure. I inflated them to 48 PSI for the record to see if the deflation was due to a slow puncture or deliberate deflation; pressure is still at 48 PSI one week later suggesting deliberate deflation. I inflate the tires as recommended on the wall of the tire as I do not necessarily use OEM elements.

In my experience higher profile tyres on vans and 4x4s tend to sit at higher pressures (40-55psi) and car tyres tend to run between 30-40. The number on the tyres sidewall is likely to be its maximum safe pressure, not the recommended level. Your cars owners manual or a plate on your should tell you your recommended pressure. Over inflating your tyres can increase economy very slightly but make your tyres wear unevenly and very quickly. It also increases your chance of puncture or blowout considerably.

Also personally to me 19psi sounds like the result of a slow puncture rather than malicious intent. These types of punctures are 'normal' on old tyres/wheels.

Aye, bin men get paid a fair amount for what is a pretty st job though, I don't see why they shouldn't be paid more than an entry level engineer. Graduate engineering jobs are still able to pretty consistently beat the UK average wages. Which is enough to live comfortably provided your not somewhere silly, like London.

Although ultimately I agree with you, I intend to migrate overseas once I get some experience in my trade. The UK is really turning into a bit of st place to be 'middle class'.

Yes, that's the max, not what you should be running at.

But it's only an imaginary job so wouldn't it be easier to give yourself an imaginary pay rise? Or are you going back to imaginary stockbroking?

Nope missed the point
It is a public road not a public car park
Anything parked is technically an obstruction. The question is how much of an obstruction and is it there for any purposes with the adjoining householder.
In the extreme it can be towed, as you might find out if you leave some scrappy 4 wheeled pile of junk outside your neighbours house for a month or so

LOL don't get jealous. I'm a chartered civil engineer. Not a guy that fixes your fridge or gas appliance, but a genuine first class degree qualified monkey that builds roads to sky scrapers on a whim. I earn an obscene amount for what I do (biggrin) sorry to burst your bubble.
Cringe.
Sweet jesus.

Someone has inferiority issues.

Don't be daft. I know if I was deflating someone's tyre I wouldn't just keep going until it went flat, I'd go to about 19 psi (or bar lol).

The slightly increased fuel consumption, tyre wear and sloppy handling would really teach them a lesson about parking that they wouldn't soon forget!

50psi to 19psi is 62% deflated, the same as I feel about this thread resurrection.

As for the 50psi on the tyre wall , it also says 'outside' on my tyres, so I don't put it in the garage.

I'm confused: a few pages ago you were earning "an obscene amount". What's changed? Did you have to give up engineering because you were worried about your details being given to the authorities? Despite apparently being a director, so the authorities already have your details.

50 PSI is a tad low for a push-bike.

Are you really an engineer? your posts suggest considerable mechanical ineptitude.

WTF does "I do not necessarily use OEM elements" mean?
