I thought "GBP 3C" sounded familiar: Last time I saw it, it was purple, and eating people...

I'm in the maroon Triumph just by the rumble strip. Bonus points for guessing what happens next...

I've neverseen a police car get such a positive reaction, even from the Lexus driver who slammed on his anchors from about warp-factor 7 when he spotted me ahead!

Does it involve a Yellow Cortina and bent metal?

I believe you, not that I ever saw one. However I did see one of these when I was in Manchester and it was on duty, ironically I was driving my first car at the time, a MkII 3L Capri S

2.8 injection, going by the wheels. Chichester Police had a 3.0S marked and an unmarked one in beige with all the "pull over" sign etc built in under the rear spoiler.

I thought it was due to tea-leaves on the line ;-)

Not real, and not stickered up, but I saw this advert in the Bradford Imax yesterday. http://youtu.be/iSTd5-Se9Hg

Italian police have taken delivery of this to replace their Gallardo's

Saw this a couple of weeks back pulling into the crime infested shopping precinct of Virginia Water. My mate and I were (somewhat childishly) laughing and pointing. The two female officers crammed inside looked genuinely embarrassed.

It does look utterly ridiculous in the flesh.

Cardiff has an escort cosworth with white rally style wheels in the early 90's and IIRC Portsmouth had a Lotus Charlton. West Midlands had an escort mk5 RS2000 too.
Ill dig up some pictures when I get home

Remember going to Cleethrorpes nick for a pint after footy duty at Grimsby(visiting spotting duties) they had two Ford RS500's marked up in the back yard. Went back some time later and they got a couple of Jap Supercars of some sort doing the same job.
Their Road Crime team had a couple of Imprezas and an E46 330 (which was the Dog vehicle - poor Dog!). I think they got Evo 10s after that.

Before the New Age cars they had GC8 Classic Imprezas, which were firmed-up by Prodrive, with better suspension and sump guards.

My first pull for speeding was one of those. Hyde Road, Gorton. The copper said "you weren't the only one speeding, but you were going fastest", which has stuck with me to this day.

Actually, it may have been a later 2.8i.

EDIT - ooops, you weren't saying that it was a 3.0 litre.

As much as I have become increasingly embittered & disillusioned with what PH has become these days, occasionally threads such as this still crop up, inadvertently producing gems such as the above, that restore my faith somewhat. smile
